Traditional Chinese medicine teaches you how to delay heart aging and stay healthy until old age!

As people age, their organs gradually age, but the aging of the heart will affect their lifespan. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the aging of the heart and the aging rate of other organs, as well as the relationship between them are absolutely related. Therefore, there are slight differences between Chinese medicine and Western medicine in the anti-aging process, but in general, the emphasis is on the details of life. Below, the editor will explain to you how Chinese medicine practitioners delay heart aging.

Heart aging affects life expectancy

Which part of the body ages first? In fact, each person's organs age first, and the speed of aging is different for each person, which depends on each person's physique and genes. However, the aging of the heart and brain will affect a person's lifespan. The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine says that women age in a cycle of seven and men age in a cycle of eight, so women age 49 and men age 64. But heart aging occurs earlier. Western medicine believes that the normal aging process of the heart occurs between 35 and 40 years old, but most people cannot feel it during this period. However, symptoms of heart aging begin to appear at the age of 56 for women and 64 for men. By the age of 80, more than half of the people already have symptoms of heart aging, and even if they do not have underlying heart disease, they will feel tired.

Medication principles by age group

For older people, the contraction ability of the heart muscle and myocardial cells decreases; the elasticity of the blood vessel walls decreases and becomes thinner, making the inner wall of the blood vessels prone to inflammation, leading to coronary heart disease; the valves gradually harden and calcify, and the ability to open and close decreases; and nerve conduction is easily disrupted. So, in fact, after the age of 56, the heart's output capacity decreases by 1% for every year of aging. Moreover, when people reach their seventies and eighties, the probability of arrhythmia increases by 10% due to aging, and the sensitivity and metabolism to heart disease drugs also change. Therefore, in clinical practice, people should be classified according to their age. In the eyes of doctors, some pathophysiology of people before 7 years old and after 70 years old are similar, and the medications used are also similar; for young and middle-aged people, the clinical medications used from 30 to 40 years old to 50 to 60 years old belong to the same category. Therefore, in clinical practice, human pathophysiological changes, as well as medication plans and principles are divided into age groups.

Preventing heart aging: Life details are most important

There is a consensus now that if we can solve the problem of aging, the essence of aging, then the diseases related to aging will be prevented and reduced to varying degrees, because these diseases are unified with the mechanism of aging in the process of their occurrence, so aging is a disease that transcends specialties. So, what aspects should we take into consideration to prevent heart aging? The details of life come first. The plan announced by the WHO is also consistent with our 5,000 years of traditional Chinese medicine, namely the four cornerstones of healthy living.

1. Daily life should be regular and in accordance with the laws of nature.

This law refers to the relationship between the earth, the sun, and several surrounding planets. Because humans also engage in photosynthesis, the skin is the largest light receptor of humans, the eyes are the most sensitive light receptors of humans, the ears are position receptors, and other receptors. When subtle changes occur in the outside world, we can all feel them. Therefore, we must follow the laws of nature in our daily activities, which is also the first point of health preservation and longevity.

2. Eat a balanced diet.

It doesn’t mean that being vegan is healthy. In terms of diet, the five grains must be the norm, and the five vegetables as a balance, with whole grains, fruits and vegetables as the foundation, and then meat. In Japan, a simple way they teach students to have a balanced bento lunch is to have a combination of land, sea and air. In the past two years, the five-color health-preserving method has become popular. Different colors represent the abundance of different nutrients and the nutrition for different organs. There is also a simple way to distinguish them, that is, grains, vegetables and fruits, meat of four-legged animals, meat of two-legged animals, and meat of legless animals, with vegetarian food as the main food and some meat as the supplement.

A balanced diet is very important, as some trace elements can be toxic if consumed in excess. For health, vitamins, fats, minerals, etc. must be consumed in a balanced manner.

3. Exercise should be moderate.

Moderate exercise, there are different guidance plans for different ages. For children, they should get enough exercise but not carry any weight. They should get nearly 2 hours of sunlight a day, but not less than 1 hour. They should not be exposed to the sun through glass. When the skin senses sunlight, it will synthesize vitamin D, which is absorbed into the blood through the skin. The blood is then transported to the liver and converted into divalent vitamin D. The blood is then transported to the kidneys and converted into trivalent vitamin D. Finally, it reaches the bones and blood vessels, greatly reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and strengthening bones. But be careful not to overexert yourself in the sun. You can apply sunscreen, but don't take a shower immediately after sun exposure.

For older people, the amount of sun exposure is the same as for children under 7 years old, but in terms of exercise, walking is the best exercise. When walking, the gastrocnemius muscle contracts regularly, which can help enhance the function of the heart. It is equivalent to having another "heart" at the distal end of the heart to help blood circulation throughout the body. There are two standards for walking: walking 10,000 steps a day, or walking continuously for 40 minutes a day. If you have exercised before, you can continue to do so now, such as running or playing ball; if you have not exercised before, it is best to choose light exercises such as Tai Chi, Ba Duan Jin, or square dancing.

According to the changes of the four seasons, the best time for outdoor sports is between 17:00 and 19:00 a day. In terms of seasons, spring and autumn are the best for outdoor sports, and the amount of exercise should be reduced in winter and summer.

4. Be mentally balanced.

Clinically, it has been found that all emotional fluctuations, whether extreme joy, extreme anger, extreme sorrow, or depression, will affect a person's endocrine system and will affect the health of the heart. There are many extreme cases in clinical practice. One of them is called broken heart syndrome in Western medicine. When the emotions change extremely, the heart is sensitive, causing cardiac inhibition. Dr. Liu Xinyan suggested that first of all, one should reflect on oneself and be aware of emotional fluctuations at all times; secondly, one should make adjustments to ensure health.
