The intestine plays a very important role in the human body, mainly in digestion and nutrient absorption. As we all know, the intestine is relatively long, so problems are prone to occur. The most common and effective examination for intestinal diseases is colonoscopy, but why are the results of the examinations different? This is mainly due to how well the intestines are prepared before the colonoscopy. Let's talk about how to prepare the intestines before the examination.

How to prepare the intestines? I will only write about two situations: those without constipation and those with frequent constipation.

1. People without constipation habits

One day before the intestinal examination, you should start eating low-residue foods in the morning. In fact, to put it simply, it should be rice porridge. You can also eat steamed eggs, boiled eggs, lotus root powder, tofu brain, etc. Do not eat foods with a lot of residue or seeds, such as vegetables and pickles rich in crude fiber (there are too many such foods, such as dried bamboo shoots, cabbage, celery, pickled radish, garlic sprouts, etc.), and do not eat fruits, especially those with seeds (such as dragon fruit, strawberry, watermelon, cantaloupe, kiwi, etc.).

Well, to put it bluntly, the three meals a day before the examination are porridge, porridge, and more porridge (white rice porridge! Don't make those coarse grain porridges with various black beans, soybeans, and mung beans!), and don't eat any fried vegetables or fruits. Not eating for a day will not make you lack any nutrition, and it will not kill you! In addition to diet, it's time to take laxatives. Generally, start drinking it 4-6 hours before colonoscopy (the specific drinking method has been detailed in the instructions and I will not repeat it here!). When you start to have a reaction after drinking it varies from person to person, and generally you will feel the urge to defecate after about half an hour. To judge whether the stool is clean, you need to see whether the stool is light yellow and has no feces! If the color is turbid, or there are feces, it means that it is not good enough. Drink more cold boiled water until the above satisfactory feces are discharged!

2. People who often suffer from constipation

It is a more troublesome problem for these friends to prepare their intestines, especially for female friends. There are various reasons for constipation, such as postpartum, postoperative, bad eating habits, staying up late, obesity, long-term lack of exercise, etc. Many people with long-term constipation, when asked about their outpatient doctors, all of them prescribe laxatives according to the ordinary regular dose, that is, two packets or two boxes of medicine. This amount is often not enough for patients with constipation, and they need to add an extra packet of laxatives. In addition to the above-mentioned diet, they should also try to drink more water and walk more when preparing the intestines. Don't sit and wait for the feeling! The method of drinking three packets of laxatives is to drink one packet the night before the examination, and drink the remaining two packets 4-6 hours before the examination the next day. Walk more after drinking. If you still feel that it is not clean, you can ask the doctor to prescribe you another packet of laxatives, and try to put the examination time later. In addition, be prepared to add some sugar cubes when preparing the intestines to avoid hypoglycemia!
