There are suddenly a lot of red spots on your body, don't be careless

If a lot of red spots appear on your body, you should pay attention to it and look at the specific symptoms of the red spots. For example, if these red spots are similar to some small red moles, you can't be careless. These are warning signs of some diseases, such as spider nevi. Patients with liver disease are prone to the appearance of spider nevi, which are prone to appear on the face, neck, shoulders and other parts of the body. It is related to estrogen metabolism. In addition, you should also be alert to bleeding spots, that is, purpura.

1. Spider nevi: Patients with liver disease should be especially careful

Jiang Meiying, chief physician of the Department of Dermatology at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, introduced that spider nevi are a common skin disease in dermatology clinics. It is an idiopathic telangiectasia caused by the dilation of the terminal branches of small arteries in the skin. The mole has a central point with small blood vessels radiating around it, and its shape resembles a spider, so it is called a spider nevus. It is prone to occur in areas where the superior vena cava is distributed, such as the face, neck, upper chest, shoulders and upper limbs.

Spider nevi are related to estrogen metabolism. Adolescent girls and pregnant women will develop spider nevi due to the increase of estrogen levels in their bodies. This is a normal phenomenon and there is no need to be too nervous. Spider nevi will disappear as you age and have children.

If spider nevi suddenly appear in men or elderly women, they should be vigilant. Because spider nevi are more common in patients with acute or chronic hepatitis or cirrhosis.

If you find a large number of spider nevi on your skin and they do not disappear for a long time after they appear, or if old spider nevi suddenly grow significantly larger, you should be alert to the possibility of cirrhosis, worsening cirrhosis, or even liver cancer. Spider nevi may be a warning sign of liver failure.

Health advice: It is best to go to the hospital as soon as possible to check liver function and liver B-ultrasound to rule out malignant tumors and various diseases that can cause liver failure.

2. Bleeding spots (purpura): Be alert to abnormal coagulation and vasculitis

The small red spots do not protrude above the surface of the skin and do not fade when pressed lightly. They are generally caused by ruptured capillaries, which is medically known as "purpura." Purpura is the most common clinical manifestation of hemorrhagic diseases. Once purpura is found, it indicates the following possibilities:

① Vascular purpura. It is very common and is caused by damage to the blood vessel wall or its increased fragility and permeability.

② Abnormal platelet purpura. Most of them are caused by thrombocytopenia, thrombocytosis and abnormal function.

③ Disorders of coagulation mechanism. These include deficiencies in coagulation factors, circulating anticoagulants, or hyperfibrinolysis.

Health advice: If unexplained bleeding spots suddenly appear on the skin, no matter how many there are, it is best to go to the hospital to consult a dermatologist.

3. Vascular nevus: Don’t rub or pick at it

Most vascular nevi are higher than the skin surface and are caused by the proliferation and continuous expansion of capillaries or arterioles on the skin surface. It will fade after pressing and easily break and bleed. It can appear anywhere on the surface of human skin.

Health advice: Generally speaking, vascular nevi do not pose any harm to health. If there is anything you must be careful of, it is that vascular nevi are prone to rupture and bleed, so don't rub or pick at them hard.

Not all moles are beauty moles, and ignoring them may bring danger! If you have any questions about the moles on your body, be sure to consult a professional doctor in a regular hospital. Never go to a beauty salon or an unqualified small clinic to remove moles at will.
