What are the effects and functions of Platycladus orientalis leaves?

The leaves of the Chinese hollyhock tree are mainly used to treat problems such as hematuria, bloody diarrhea, rheumatic paralysis and pain, and they also have a good effect on sudden situations. In addition, they are also used to treat adverse diseases such as whooping cough and tuberculosis.

1. Functions and indications

Cool blood, stop bleeding, eliminate rheumatism, and disperse swelling and toxins. It is used to treat vomiting blood, epistaxis, hematuria, bloody dysentery, intestinal wind, metrorrhagia, rheumatic pain, bacterial dysentery, hypertension, cough, erysipelas, mumps, and burns.

2. Treat baldness

Soak fresh Platycladus orientalis leaves in 60% alcohol. After 7 days, filter out the liquid and apply it to the areas where hair has fallen out, 3 times a day. 13 cases were observed (all with hair loss from the forehead, top of the head to the back of the head, excluding alopecia areata), and all of them showed hair growth after treatment. If continuous application can be maintained and the drug concentration can be increased as appropriate, the hair can grow denser and is not easy to fall off.

3. Treat whooping cough

Use 1 liang of fresh Platycladus orientalis leaves (including young branches), add water and boil it into 100 ml, then add 20 ml of honey. If using dry product, boil it into 150 ml for every liang, and add 30 ml of honey. Dosage: 10-15 ml each time for children under 1 year old, 15-30 ml for children 1-3 years old, 30-50 ml for children over 4 years old, 3 times a day. Take it for 1 to 3 weeks as needed. The earlier the treatment, the higher the efficacy and the shorter the treatment course. When preparing this medicine, you may add preservatives as needed, otherwise it will turn sour or produce white foam after more than 4 days. Fresh arborvitae has better effect.

4. Treat tuberculosis

1. Intravenous drip: 20-30 ml of 100% Platycladus orientalis injection is added to 150 ml of 10% glucose solution and dripped in about 1 hour;

Second, intravenous injection: Add 20-30 ml of 100% Platycladus orientalis leaf injection into 30 ml of 10% glucose solution and complete the injection in about 15 minutes. Among the 64 patients who were treated for more than one month, 9 were clinically cured, 6 were significantly improved, 32 were improved, 12 were unchanged, and 5 were worsened. The course of treatment is generally 2 months. It is more effective for fresh tuberculosis lesions and infiltration stages, but less effective for old tuberculosis and thick-walled fibrocavitary types. No toxic reaction was observed during the application.
