Flowers are unisexual, on the same or different plants, with narrow spike-shaped inflorescences, 4-15cm long, 2-3 axillary; male flowers are at the bottom, 1.5-2mm long, with 4 tepals, emerald green, and 4 pistils; female flowers are at the top of the inflorescence, and female flowers are slightly smaller than male flowers.
