Itchy armpits with rash after scratching

The armpit is a sensitive and fragile part of the human body. It is where lymph and sweat glands are densely distributed, so daily hygiene care of the armpit is particularly important. In summer, especially in some humid southern regions, due to the special location of the armpits, many people will experience itching in the armpits. After scratching, rashes will appear, and sometimes even worsen. Let's follow the editor to see what causes rashes in the armpits and how to treat them.

This symptom is generally caused by allergies, eczema and other diseases, and can also be caused by contact with other abnormal substances. The skin lesions initially appear as numerous dense millet-sized papules, papulovesicles or small blisters with a flushed base, which gradually merge into patches. Due to scratching, the tops of the papules, papulovesicles or blisters appear as obvious punctate exudates and small erosive surfaces with unclear edges after being scratched.

Eczema is the most common dermatological disease and can affect children, adults and the elderly. The main symptoms of eczema are itchy and dry skin, and sometimes watery skin. Chronically itchy skin may feel thick after scratching, which is called tinea fetalis, and is as rough as horsehide or leather.

You can first use paeonol ointment or calamine lotion for treatment. You can also take anti-allergic drugs such as Claritin orally. You can also go to the dermatology department of the hospital and receive treatment under the guidance of a doctor. Pay attention to skin hygiene and avoid eating spicy food to prevent effects. You can take chlorpheniramine or loratadine orally and apply dermatitis cream externally for treatment.

Avoid all kinds of external stimulation, such as hot water washing, excessive scratching, washing and contact with potentially sensitive substances such as fur preparations. Avoid contact with products containing chemical ingredients, such as soap, laundry detergent, and dishwashing liquid. Avoid foods that may cause allergies and irritants, such as chili peppers, strong tea, coffee, and alcohol. Reduce the intake of acidic foods, such as meat, fish, and onions. Bathe regularly and use appropriate skin care products.
