What medicine is used for bladder irrigation

Bladder irrigation is an important method for treating bladder inflammation. Bladder irrigation can achieve anti-inflammatory effects, such as drugs such as furacilin. When performing bladder irrigation, you should also understand some precautions and strictly follow aseptic conditions to avoid iatrogenic infection. After indwelling catheterization, pay attention to the optimal frequency of bladder irrigation, which will help the effect of bladder irrigation.

What medicine is used for bladder irrigation

Commonly used flushing solutions include 0.02% furacilin, 0.02% rafoinol, 3% boric acid and isotonic saline. The water temperature is 35℃-37℃. Use cold flushing solution for bladder bleeding. Flush 2-3 times a day, 50-100ml of solution each time. The amount of flushing solution after bladder surgery should not exceed 50ml. Observe the patient's reaction during flushing. Stop flushing if there is abnormal situation such as bleeding, severe pain, or reflux volume less than the infusion volume.

Key points of nursing implementation

1. Assess the patient: (1) Ask questions about the patient’s condition, understand the condition, explain the condition to the patient, and obtain cooperation. (2) Understand the characteristics of the patient's urine, whether the patient has frequent urination, urgency, pain when urinating, a feeling of bladder retention, whether the urine has been completely emptied, and the patency of the urinary catheter. 2. Operation points: (1) Check and be prepared. (2) Wash your hands and wear a mask. (3) Hang the bladder flushing fluid on the infusion stand, connect the flushing tube to the flushing fluid, connect one end of the Y-shaped tube to the flushing tube, and connect the other two ends to the catheter and urine bag respectively. Disinfect each connection before connecting. (4) Open the flushing tube, clamp the urine bag, and adjust the flushing speed according to the doctor's instructions. (5) Clamp the flushing tube, open the urine bag, and drain the flushing fluid. Repeat this process. (6) During the continuous flushing process, observe the patient's reaction and the amount and color of the flushing solution. Assess the amount of flushing fluid in and out and whether there is a feeling of bladder fullness. (7) After flushing, remove the flushing tube, disinfect the catheter opening, connect it to the urine bag, and secure it properly, positioning it below the bladder to facilitate drainage of urine. (8) Assist the patient to assume a comfortable lying position.

Optimal frequency of bladder irrigation after indwelling catheterization

1. Indwelling catheter is a common clinical auxiliary treatment technology, and the closed urinary catheterization drainage system is currently widely used in clinical practice. Therefore, under the premise of strict aseptic operation, the probability of urinary tract infection can be significantly reduced. However, for patients with long-term indwelling catheterization, the catheter stays in the body for a long time, the probability of bacterial invasion increases, and the rate of urinary tract infection also increases accordingly. Bladder irrigation can effectively reduce the infection rate in patients with long-term indwelling urinary catheters. 2. Bladder irrigation refers to the use of a catheter to inject irrigation fluid into the bladder to dilute urine, prevent catheter blockage, and help quickly remove bacteria, urine sediment crystals and sloughed mucosa in the patient's bladder. The injected liquid is then drained out using the siphon principle. Prevent the massive growth and reproduction of bacteria in the bladder. 3. Bladder irrigation is an effective method to reduce urinary tract infections in patients with long-term indwelling urinary catheters. But do not flush frequently. Flushing twice a week is the best frequency, which helps reduce the rate of urinary tract infection.
