Emergency treatment for pollen allergy

Emergency treatment for pollen allergy

Pollen allergy is a common phenomenon in our lives, especially in the spring when flowers bloom. After suffering from pollen allergy, certain methods must be taken to deal with pollen allergy, but if the incident is urgent, emergency treatment methods must be adopted. However, few people know about the emergency treatment methods for pollen allergies, and most people choose to go to the hospital for treatment.

Pollen allergy is actually just a type of allergy. Many people have allergic constitutions, but because each person's allergens are different, the time and place of allergies are generally different. The so-called pollen allergy is actually an allergic phenomenon caused by the allergen being pollen. Let’s talk about emergency treatment methods for pollen allergy.

hay fever

At present, the prevalence of pollen allergy in the world has reached about 5% to 10%, and the number of patients in my country is also increasing year by year. The number of people suffering from pollen allergies has been rising year by year. There are many reasons for this. First, people's immunity is gradually declining, and the root cause of allergic diseases is very stubborn. Second, people have gradually identified "pollen allergies" from common colds. Third, people's health awareness has gradually increased, and allergen testing technology has become more precise. Of course, there are still many people who are allergic to pollen who mistakenly think they have a cold or rhinitis, and repeatedly use anti-cold drugs or nasal drops for treatment, thus delaying the best time for treatment. Therefore, correctly identifying the disease is the first step.

The diameter of pollen is generally around 30 to 50 microns. When they float in the air, they can easily be inhaled into the respiratory tract. People who are allergic to pollen will have an allergic reaction after inhaling these pollens. This is called pollen allergy. The main symptoms of pollen allergy are sneezing, runny nose, tears, itching of the nose, eyes and external auditory canal. In severe cases, it can also induce tracheitis, bronchial asthma, and cor pulmonale (more common in summer and autumn). The reason why pollen can cause allergies in the human body is that it contains rich protein, some of which are the main allergens that cause allergies.

The symptoms of skin allergy due to pollen contact are erythema, papules, small scales, itching or burning sensation on the skin, which are mostly caused by skin contact with pollen in the wild and then exposure to sunlight.

Emergency treatment for pollen allergy:

1. Pepper water

Soak 25-30 Sichuan peppercorns in 100 ml of boiling water for 4-6 hours, then put them into a clean bottle. Use this water to wipe your skin when itching occurs.

Sichuan pepper water has an anti-itching effect and is effective when applied on mild itching caused by pollen allergies. However, Sichuan pepper also has a stimulating effect, so the concentration cannot be high. If you have a severe allergy and redness and swelling occur, you should stop wiping.

2. Honey + Olive Oil

If your facial skin becomes red, feels tight or uncomfortable, or becomes flaky after an outing, be sure not to use facial cleanser, but only wash your face with clean water to avoid over-cleansing.

After washing your face, mix honey and olive oil in a 1:1 ratio and apply it on your face to relieve symptoms immediately.

3. Gauze + boiled water

If red spots or papules appear on your facial skin and you feel itching or burning, you should first stop using facial cleansers such as facial cleansers or soaps.

After washing with warm water, soak clean gauze in cooled boiled water and use the gauze to wet the face. 6-8 layers of gauze are appropriate to relieve symptoms.

When using skin care products, people who are sensitive to pollen should abandon those containing chemical ingredients such as alcohol, such as lotions, and it is best to switch to children's skin care products with less irritation. Liquid foundation should be replaced with wet or dry dual-use foundation in a timely manner, and oil-containing skin care products should be adjusted to highly moisturizing but oil-free ones.

Through the detailed understanding above, we can know the emergency treatment methods for pollen allergy. There are generally three emergency treatment methods for pollen allergies. These three methods are: pepper water, honey and olive oil, gauze and boiled water. Careful people will find that these three methods are actually diet therapy methods, but they are very effective in emergency treatment of pollen allergies.
