How to treat uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are a common disease among women. Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that grow in the uterus. Although it is a benign tumor and does not pose a serious threat to life for the time being, it can also cause many physical conditions, such as irregular menstruation, abnormal leucorrhea, etc. Therefore, if you have uterine fibroids, you must treat them as soon as possible. So how should they be treated?

There are many treatments for uterine fibroids. Here we introduce them from the perspectives of Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine: Modern medicine believes that the occurrence of uterine fibroids is related to estrogen, and estrogen is an important factor in the growth of fibroids. The strength of estrogen production depends on the content of estrone receptor (EnR) in the target combination. Estrogen diffuses into the cell nucleus, recognizes and binds to EnR in the nucleus, produces biological effects and produces fibroids. The content of estrogen and progesterone receptors in fibroids is significantly higher than that in uterine muscle tissue. Studies have reported that reducing the EnR content in the nucleus can significantly inhibit the growth of fibroids.

Western medicine treatment methods: 1. Drug treatment: There are many Western medicines for the treatment of uterine fibroids, but most of them are only symptomatic and not a cure, the effect is not very ideal, and it also causes great harm to the kidneys. 2. Surgical treatment: One is to remove the intrauterine and abdominal myomas. This method is effective for small and medium-sized myomas, but it is powerless for myomas larger than 5 cm. Moreover, the recurrence rate is particularly high. There are cases where more than 200 fibroids were removed consecutively. The second is total hysterectomy, which is effective and can fundamentally solve the problem of uterine fibroids, but it will cause loss of fertility and will no longer have menstruation. In addition, after hysterectomy, ovarian function will fail prematurely, estrogen will decrease, and the incidence of cardiovascular disease will increase. Patients are prone to adverse reactions such as obesity, hypertension, heart disease, osteoporosis, etc.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that uterine fibroids are caused by organ dysfunction, qi stagnation and blood stasis. Therefore, traditional Chinese medicine treats uterine fibroids mainly by promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, eliminating blood stasis and dispersing nodules, clearing away heat and detoxifying, soothing the liver and regulating qi, and removing blood stasis and relieving pain. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment of uterine fibroids can improve the blood circulation of the hyperplastic endometrium, gradually eliminate the simple hypertrophy of the muscle layer, and soften the hyperplastic connective tissue, thereby playing a therapeutic role in regulating menstruation, stopping bleeding, eliminating pain, and restoring ovarian function. It can effectively control the growth of uterine fibroids, gradually soften the tumor, and finally dissipate.
