What to do if your baby has bloating

What to do if your baby has bloating

Recently, some mothers said in a WeChat group that their children were usually well-behaved, but in recent days they found that their children were crying for no apparent reason and would not even lie still. The problems of hunger and excretion have been ruled out, and the face is flushed red. When you become a mother for the first time, you will always be worried about your baby's every move. If your child has the above symptoms, it is very likely that he has intestinal gas. For adults, it may get better after a period of time, but for babies, it should not be underestimated. So what should we do if our child has bloating?

Reasons for bloating in children:

1. Swallowing too much air: When the baby is fed with a bottle, if he sucks too quickly, he may inhale too much air. If the nipple hole of the bottle is not of appropriate size or the bottle is tilted, air may be inhaled into the baby's stomach through the gap in the nipple. Excessive crying by the baby may also easily lead to bloating.

2. Indigestion: The accumulation of feces in the intestines causes the proliferation of gas-producing bad bacteria, or milk protein allergy, lactose intolerance, enteritis, etc. cause poor digestion and absorption, which easily produces a large amount of gas.

3. Gastrointestinal motility disorders: They are divided into purely functional ones called "pseudo-intestinal obstruction" and "congenital megacolon" in which the gastrointestinal tract truly lacks ganglia. Such problems vary in severity, ranging from chronic constipation and bloating to severe vomiting, and can be temporary or lifelong.

Solution:

1. Drink more warm water

Drinking warm water can help reduce the burden on your baby's stomach, liver and kidneys. It can not only relieve constipation, reduce the incidence of cerebral thrombosis and myocardial infarction, but also help you expel gas.

2. Abdominal massage

Massage your baby's abdomen clockwise one hour after a meal to promote your baby's intestinal motility. Do this several times a day. At the same time, be gentle with your technique.

3. Home Care

It is also helpful to use wind-repellent oil on the abdomen and cover it with a warm towel. These help gastrointestinal motility and gas discharge to improve digestion and absorption function.

4. Diet therapy

Eat some digestive foods.

When your baby has a bloated stomach, you can adjust the diet by giving your baby some digestive foods or foods that are easy to digest, and try to eat small meals frequently until the symptoms of bloating disappear. In addition, avoid spicy foods. Sour foods such as hawthorn slices can aid digestion, and foods that strengthen the spleen and stomach include coix seed, red dates, yam, pumpkin, and potatoes.

5. Eat a balanced diet

In daily life, parents need to reasonably match the food for their children, make it diverse, avoid the food being too monotonous, and the food should be easy to digest, so as to effectively prevent the baby's bloating symptoms.

6. Develop good eating habits

Parents must prevent their babies from developing bad eating habits. If the baby has the habit of overeating, parents must help correct it. When encountering baby's favorite or new dishes, parents can consider preparing limited quantities. This can prevent the baby from overeating and also stimulate the baby's taste to prevent him from being picky or anorexic.
