Why are urinary stones prone to recurrence?

Urinary tract stones are relatively common urinary stones and have a certain recurrence rate. For example, sitting for a long time and having a poor diet may lead to recurrence. Some people have congenital urethral stenosis and are more likely to have recurrence of urinary stones. For such patients, it is important to emphasize nutrition. The best prevention method is to exercise more, drink more water, and pay attention to diet, which can avoid recurrence.

Why are urinary stones prone to recurrence?

1. Primary urinary stones refer to stones that are initially formed in the urethra. Their causes include urethral stenosis, infection, retention cysts, mucosal damage, diverticula and foreign bodies.

2. Secondary urinary stones refer to stones that are first formed in the urinary system above the urethra and then discharged into the urethra and remain in the urethra. They often stay in the physiological dilated part of the urethra and the proximal side of the narrow part. Therefore, urinary stones are often seen in the prostatic part, bulb part, penis part, navicular fossa and external urethral orifice of the urethra. (II) Pathogenesis Most urinary stones originate from the bladder and upper urinary tract and lodge in the prostatic urethra, bulbar urethra, penis, and navicular fossa.

Or at the external urethral orifice, so its composition is consistent with that of bladder stones or upper urinary stones. If the stones are related to infection, primary urinary stones are mostly infection stones, which are usually multiple. Stones can also originate from the proximal urethral stenosis or in the urethral diverticulum. In addition to the damage caused by the primary disease, urinary stones can also cause urethral obstruction. The long-term mechanical stimulation of the stones on the local mucosa causes mucosal damage, inflammation, ulcers, hyperplasia, infection, abscesses, etc. In a few cases, it can even cause serious complications such as urinary fistula.

The cause of urinary stones is not very complicated. It is recommended that patients pay attention to physical exercise in their daily lives, so that they can prevent urinary stones in a targeted manner. In addition, it is also recommended that patients drink more water in their daily lives, which can also ensure better prevention of urinary stones.
