What is a scar-prone person?

Scar-prone constitution is also a common constitution. Although the number of people with this constitution is relatively small, once scars appear, it often has a great impact on the patient's health. People with this constitution are prone to hyperplasia and pimples when scars appear, which will seriously affect the beauty of the skin. At this time, you must take formal treatment methods in time. In daily life, as an ordinary person, you can also understand whether you are a person with a scar constitution based on some symptoms.

What is a scar-prone person?

Because there are very few people with a scar-prone physique, some books also refer to people with keloids as having a scar-prone physique. Keloids are characterized by scars that grow outward after the wound heals, protruding from the skin surface, being hard, and may also feel red and painful, but after growing to a certain size, they will no longer continue to expand.

There is a difference between scar-prone constitution and keloid. People with scar-prone constitution can experience unlimited proliferation of keloid-like scars after any part of the body is injured, while keloid can appear in certain parts of the normal population, or due to the healing of scars caused by certain reasons. In other words, keloids are an inevitable manifestation of a scar-prone constitution, but people who develop keloids do not necessarily have a scar-prone constitution.

This type of people after the wound heals. Surface scars continue to grow, not only affecting the appearance, but also causing local pain, redness and itching. Scar contraction also affects functional movement.

People with a scar-prone constitution are prone to developing hypertrophic scars or keloids with obvious symptoms after surgery, burns, or trauma. Currently in medicine, scar-prone constitution can only be diagnosed based on a person's symptoms, but there is no real way to test whether a person has a scar-prone constitution through any single test indicator. In fact, there are very few people who have a scar-prone physique. Diagnosis of scar-prone constitution requires judgment, and treatment must be carried out with extreme caution. Sometimes the loss after treatment outweighs the gain.

Keloid scars are initially light red, gradually protrude from the skin surface and extend beyond the original damaged area, forming a hard and elastic lump. After a few months, the plaques become lighter in color, the surface becomes smooth and shiny without hair, dilated capillaries can be seen, and there is itching, stinging or burning pain, and some may even rupture and discharge fluid.

Doctors consider the following points.

1. Whether there is a history of hypertrophic scars, keloids, or old scars with a proliferation phase lasting for more than 1 year.

2. Whether you have an allergic constitution.

3. Are there any people in the family who have situation 1 or 2?

Scars have different shapes and classifications. In clinical practice, many terms are used, such as idiopathic keloid, true keloid, pseudokeloid, keloidal scar, hypertrophic keloid and keloid. There is still no clear classification.

People with acne-prone skin, dull and dry skin, oily skin, and sweaty skin on their face and body are prone to scarring. Also, it is more likely to occur in areas with poor venous lymphatic return. Chest keloids are more common in people with well-developed breasts.

In addition, the upper and outer sides of the upper arm (deltoid muscle), the anterior chest, and the scapula are common sites for keloids to occur. It is also more likely to occur behind the ear, auricle, neck, occipital area, and above the pubic bone. On the contrary, keloids are less likely to occur in denervated areas (leprosy) and spinal cord paralysis areas.
