Diarrhea for several days

Diarrhea for several days

Everyone's physique is different. If you have diarrhea, you must pay attention to it, because frequent diarrhea can lead to a serious loss of water in the body. If not properly treated, it can lead to shock. There are many reasons that lead to continuous diarrhea, such as drug abuse, viral infection, gastrointestinal dysfunction, etc.

Why do I always have diarrhea?

Enteritis caused by drug abuse, viral infection, etc. can also lead to unformed stools and loose stools.

Irregular eating habits, overeating, eating indigestible food, or food retention in the stomach due to insufficient gastric motility can cause unformed stools, frequent bowel movements, and loose stools.

The stool is unformed and loose due to gastrointestinal dysfunction, which is often manifested as alternating constipation and diarrhea.

Blood in the stool drips on the surface of the stool; the blood is bright red or dark red, and in the late stage the blood in the stool is purulent, and symptoms such as anorectal prolapse, weight loss, and changes in bowel habits will appear. For middle-aged and elderly people, blood in the stool may be a sign of colorectal cancer or other diseases and should be taken seriously. Why do I always have diarrhea?

Diarrhea refers to a change in the original bowel habits. It can be called diarrhea only when the following three conditions are met:

The stool becomes thinner, and its shape, color, and odor change. It may contain pus, blood, mucus, undigested food, and fat. It may also turn into yellow water, green paste, and have a sour and smelly odor.

In the "Inner Canon of Medicine", traditional Chinese medicine calls diarrhea "xie". During the Han and Tang dynasties, it was mostly called "xiali", and after the Song Dynasty, it was called "xiexie". According to the cause of diarrhea, the site of onset, the characteristics of the onset, the shape of stool, etc., it is divided into: damp diarrhea, fire diarrhea, summer diarrhea, heat diarrhea, food diarrhea, gas diarrhea; stomach diarrhea, small intestine diarrhea, large intestine diarrhea, kidney diarrhea, rectal diarrhea; watery diarrhea, slippery diarrhea, etc. Generally, loose stools are called "diarrhea", and watery stools are called "pox".
