What should people with low blood pressure eat according to traditional Chinese medicine?

What should people with low blood pressure eat? Traditional Chinese medicine believes that low blood pressure is more common in people with weak spleen and stomach; mental workers; or fragile elderly heart patients. It is mostly caused by qi deficiency and yang deficiency, yin and blood deficiency, or both qi and yin deficiency. Therefore, what is good to eat for people with low blood pressure depends on the type of blood pressure they are suffering from.
Hypotension refers to a systolic blood pressure below 12 kPa and a diastolic blood pressure below 6.7 kPa. Common symptoms include dizziness, fatigue, lack of energy, cold stomach, cold limbs, decreased resistance and immunity, and susceptibility to colds. Hypotension is generally divided into three types: primary, secondary and temporary.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment
Traditional Chinese medicine believes that this disease is more common in people with weak spleen and stomach; those who do mental work; or fragile elderly heart patients. It is believed that it is mostly caused by qi deficiency and yang deficiency, yin and blood deficiency, or both qi and yin deficiency.
Qi and Yang deficiency cause weak heart pulse beat, Qi movement disorder, failure of clear Yang to rise, and malnutrition of the heart pulse; Yin and blood deficiency and insufficient blood vessels also cause malnutrition of the heart and brain, or due to kidney yang deficiency and empty brain marrow, dizziness, blurred vision and even fainting; Qi and Yin deficiency, imbalance of Yin and Yang, and low organ function cause dizziness, tinnitus, chills and cold limbs, sore waist and weak legs, loss of appetite, fatigue and weakness, and clinically accompanied by symptoms such as low blood pressure. The following is the classification and treatment:
(I) Qi Deficiency and Yang Deficiency
Qi deficiency may cause pale complexion, dizziness, shortness of breath, laziness to speak, fatigue, and even fainting. In addition to the symptoms of qi deficiency, yang deficiency also includes fear of cold, cold limbs, spontaneous sweating, a slow or late and weak pulse, and a fat and pale tongue with a white tongue coating.

Diet therapy
Diet therapy is also one of the effective measures to treat hypotension. It can gradually improve the patient's physical fitness, improve cardiovascular function, increase myocardial contractility, increase cardiac output, and increase the tension of arterial walls, thereby gradually raising blood pressure and stabilizing it to normal levels, eliminating the various uncomfortable symptoms caused by low blood pressure. Dietary options for people with low blood pressure include the following:
1. Eat both meat and vegetables, and combine meals reasonably to ensure that you take in comprehensive and sufficient nutrients, so that your physique will gradually become stronger from being weak.
2. If you have anemia accompanied by low red blood cell count and insufficient hemoglobin, you should eat more foods rich in protein, iron, copper, folic acid, vitamin B12, vitamin C and other "hematopoietic raw materials", such as pork liver, egg yolk, lean meat, milk, fish, shrimp, shellfish, soybeans, tofu, brown sugar and fresh vegetables and fruits. Correcting anemia helps increase cardiac output, improve blood supply to the brain, raise blood pressure and eliminate adverse symptoms caused by low blood pressure.
3. Fruits such as lotus seeds, longans, jujubes, and mulberries have the power to nourish the heart and blood, strengthen the spleen and nourish the brain, and can be eaten frequently.

4. People with poor appetite should eat appropriate amounts of appetite-stimulating foods and condiments, such as ginger, onions, vinegar, sauce, sugar, pepper, chili, beer, wine, etc.
5. In contrast to hypertension, this disease should adopt an appropriate high-sodium, high-cholesterol diet. Sodium chloride (i.e. table salt) needs to be consumed at 12-15 grams per day. Foods that are high in cholesterol, such as brain, liver, eggs, cream, fish roe, pork bones, etc., if eaten in moderation and regularly, can help increase blood cholesterol levels, increase arterial tension, and raise blood pressure.
No matter which type of hypotension patient has, they can eat more salty foods because salt can increase blood pressure. Drinking more water and exercising more every day can increase blood volume. You can also eat some longan meat, jujube, red beans, etc., which can not only increase nutrition but also help correct low blood pressure.
