Things to note after getting the chickenpox vaccine

Generally, when a child reaches the age of 2, parents and schools will arrange for the child to receive the chickenpox vaccine. It is best to receive the chickenpox vaccine during childhood because chickenpox often occurs in spring and autumn. Children in childhood have weaker constitutions and are easily infected with chickenpox. If the chickenpox vaccine has been administered to the body at this time, it will provide protection. What are the precautions for children after receiving the chickenpox vaccine?

Varicella vaccine is prepared by passaged strains of varicella virus and is the only means of preventing varicella infection. Getting the varicella vaccine not only prevents chickenpox, but also prevents complications caused by varicella-zoster. This vaccine can stimulate the body to produce immunity against the varicella virus and is used to prevent chickenpox.

Things to note after getting the chickenpox vaccine:

1. Carry out vaccination according to regulations and immunization procedures.

2. Do not feed your child milk within 30 minutes to 1 hour after vaccination. This is because if the child is sucking milk from a bottle when convulsions occur after vaccination, it is very likely to cause pneumonia.

3. The injection site should be kept dry and clean for 24 hours, and try not to bathe.

4. Observe your child’s reaction carefully. Based on experience, abnormal symptoms may appear at least ten minutes and at most ten days after vaccination.

5. Do not let your baby sleep on his stomach. Do not place your baby on his or her stomach to sleep after vaccination, as seizures or breathing difficulties can be life-threatening.

6. Consult a doctor if side effects occur.

7. Please observe at the vaccination site for 15-30 minutes after vaccination and leave only after no abnormal reactions occur.

After vaccination, if the baby has a high fever over 40 degrees Celsius, or cries for more than 3 hours within 48 hours, has convulsions, or has a severe allergic reaction, then you should consult a doctor before deciding whether and when to get the next vaccination.
