What to do if you have paronychia

What to do if you have paronychia

The growth of toenails is very different from that of fingernails. Many friends often encounter the situation where toenails grow into the flesh, especially the big toe. If the toenails are not trimmed properly, it is easy for the toenails to grow into the flesh. If they are trimmed at this time, it is easy to cause the toes to bleed. If the bleeding edges of toenails are not properly cared for, it will directly lead to paronychia.

If paronychia is not treated in time, it will cause suppuration in the injured area. If it is not handled properly, it will have a certain impact on the patient's walking. Therefore, when facing paronychia, patients must pay attention to active treatment.

If you have paronychia on your fingers or toes, in addition to using paronychia medicine, you can also find a fresh pig gallbladder, pour out some of the bile, put the pig gallbladder on the affected finger, and tie it tightly with adhesive tape (not too tight to avoid affecting blood circulation) to prevent the bile from flowing out. It can relieve pain within half an hour and the swelling of the foot can disappear in about 5 days. Generally, a pig's gallbladder is replaced every three days. This recipe is effective in treating paronychia.

Iodine tincture soak

As long as there is any slight injury or damage to the toe, apply or soak the affected toe with iodine 4 to 6 times a day for 15 to 20 minutes each time until the skin turns white. The disinfecting effect of iodine will corrode the diseased skin tissue and allow it to regrow to prevent paronychia.

Chinese medicine compress

Chinese medicine plaster is a kind of conservative treatment method. Its function is to reduce swelling, relieve pain and detoxify. It is suitable for patients with early paronychia. Most hospitals apply ichthyol ointment or Sanhuang powder to the affected area. The "Bloody-Removing Ointment" prepared by Zhang Yingchun, deputy chief physician of the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Hubei Provincial Maternal and Child Health Hospital, is very effective for toes that have just become festered. A course of treatment with the "Bloody-Removing Ointment" costs about 90 yuan. While applying the ointment, you should refrain from eating irritating foods.

The above are all ways to deal with paronychia. In addition, patients with more severe symptoms may choose to have their nails removed. In fact, this method is not recommended. In order to prevent the occurrence of paronychia, I hope that everyone will pay attention to caring for the skin around the nails, especially when trimming nails, to avoid skin damage.
