Fengchi: Fengchi point is located at the back of the neck, under the back of the skull, in the depression on the outer edges of two large tendons, which is level with the earlobe. 2. Dazhui: Dazhui is located on the midline of the back, in the depression below the spinous process of the seventh cervical vertebra, as shown in Figure 1: 3. Quchi: Bend the elbow to a right angle, at the midpoint of the line connecting the lateral end of the elbow transverse line and the lateral epicondyle of the humerus. When the elbow is fully flexed, it is at the outer end of the elbow crease. 4. Lieque: Cross your hands naturally, press the index finger of one hand on the radial styloid process of the other hand, and locate the acupoint when the tip of the index finger reaches the depression. 5. Hegu: Place the transverse line of the thumb joint of one hand on the web between the thumb and index finger of the other hand. The acupoint is below the tip of the thumb. These are the most commonly used acupoints for treating and preventing colds. Dazhui acupoint and Fengchi acupoint can dispel wind-cold, clear away heat and relieve exterior symptoms; Quchi acupoint combined with Gu acupoint has the effects of dispersing wind and relieving exterior symptoms, clearing heat and relieving pain, and is mainly used to treat colds and fever. Lieque is an important acupoint for treating coughs. The combined use of these acupoints has very good effects on the treatment and prevention of colds. 2. Rub your hands: The base of the thumb (medically known as thenar eminence) is rich in muscles. When the palm is stretched out, it protrudes significantly and occupies a large area of the palm. The thenar eminence is closely related to the respiratory organs. Method: Rub the thenar of both hands together until they are warm. Keep one hand fixed and rotate the thenar of the other hand, alternating between the two hands up and down. Rub the two thenars in opposite directions for about one to two minutes, and the entire palm will become warm. This can promote blood circulation, strengthen the body's metabolism, and enhance physical fitness, making it less likely to catch a cold. 3. Massage the nose wings: Make fists with both hands and use the back of your bent thumbs to massage both sides of your nose up and down. Massage 15-30 times every morning and afternoon until the area becomes red and hot. One method can improve nasal blood circulation, promote mucosal cell secretion, and expel cold viruses and their harmful metabolites from the body through the "directional swinging" of nasal cilia. |
