Treatment for mumps

Treatment for mumps

Speaking of mumps, some friends may not know what it is. In fact, we ordinary people often call mumps "paroxysmal mumps", which is a common respiratory disease among children. And because the main cause of the disease is viral infection, the disease is also contagious. This is also the main reason why parents do not want their children to come into contact with their children when there are children around them suffering from mumps.

However, not all mumps are caused by viral infection. Depending on the virus that causes the disease, there will be different clinical symptoms, so it is divided into acute suppurative and epidemic types. So how to treat mumps? What are the treatments for mumps?

1. General treatment

In the early stages of acute suppurative mumps, drug treatment is the main approach; at the same time, methods to stimulate secretion are used to keep saliva secretion flowing smoothly. If the disease lasts for more than a week and enters the suppurative stage, an incision and drainage operation should be performed.

There is no specific treatment for viral mumps. It can be treated with the aforementioned Chinese medicine. If there is a concurrent bacterial infection, antibiotics can be used. Since mumps can cause fever, when the fever is above 39 degrees, you can choose indomethacin suppositories, one or half a suppository each time, depending on the severity of your condition. Or you can choose Sepuda, one bag at a time.

2. Folk remedies for treatment

Use cactus, remove the thorns, mash it and add egg white to mix well and apply it to the affected area. Change it once a day and use it for 3 consecutive days. This prescription is a commonly used method for treating mumps in rural areas. The effect is good.

Scramble eggs with 5 grams of snake skin (longyi) without adding salt, eat once a day for 3 consecutive days.

3. Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment

Chinese medicine practitioners prescribe some Chinese medicines for clearing away heat, detoxifying, dispersing nodules and reducing swelling, such as boiling isatis root, prunella vulgaris, dandelion, etc. in water for consumption. Choose a piece of fresh and juicy cactus, peel off the skin and small thorns, mash it into a paste, apply it to the affected area, change the dressing once a day, and it will usually heal in 2 to 3 days. Cactus has a light taste and cold nature, and can play the role of clearing away heat and detoxifying, reducing swelling and relieving pain. You can also wash an appropriate amount of Purslane, drain the water, mash it, and apply it to the affected area. Change once a day. Another recipe: 30 grams of tofu, 6 grams of mung beans, 50 grams of rock sugar, add water to decoct and take, 1 dose per day for 3 consecutive days. If your child has a high fever and severe headache, you should be alert to meningitis and go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time to avoid delaying the disease. Once a child is found to have mumps, the first thing to do is to separate him or her from healthy people and ventilate the room regularly to keep the air flowing.

The main treatments for mumps are the ones mentioned above. If your child suddenly develops a swollen face and is accompanied by pain symptoms, it is recommended that you take your child to see a doctor for diagnosis to see if it is caused by mumps. If so, be sure to provide your child with timely treatment.
