How do I know if I have liver problems?

How do I know if I have liver problems?

You still need to go to the hospital for some professional examinations, as some diagnoses can only be made roughly. The liver is one of the most important organs in the human body and it has a detoxifying function. Some tests are not particularly accurate, so don't blindly trust the test results, as they may be inaccurate. Some tests are similar to liver problems, and doing more tests can better rule them out. In fact, some physical conditions can also indicate liver problems.

Usually liver function and B-ultrasound tests are performed

Liver function tests are not omnipotent and have certain limitations. The following three points must be noted:

① The sensitivity of liver function tests is limited, and the liver's compensatory reserve capacity is very strong. Therefore, normal liver function tests do not necessarily mean the absence of liver disease.

②Some indicators in liver function tests lack specificity, so abnormal liver function does not necessarily mean liver disease.

③The activity of serum enzymes is a very important criterion, but it does not reflect liver function. Enzyme indicators are only an estimate of the integrity of liver cells.

In short, liver function tests can only be used as an auxiliary means to diagnose hepatobiliary diseases; to make a correct diagnosis of the disease, a comprehensive analysis must be conducted in combination with medical history, physical examination, and imaging examinations.

Signal 1:

The surface of the nail has raised ridges or depressions. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that "the liver governs the tendons" and nails are part of the "tendons", so when toxins accumulate in the liver, there will be obvious signals on the nails.

Signal 2:

Dry mouth, bitter taste, bad breath

When you wake up in the morning, you feel dry, bitter and bad breath. According to traditional Chinese medicine, bitter taste in the mouth is mainly caused by stagnation of liver qi. The accumulation of foul-smelling toxins in the body often causes even the breath to have a musty and smelly odor.

Signal three :

Migraine, acne on both sides of the face, and dysmenorrhea

The sides of the face and lower abdomen are the "jurisdiction areas" of the liver meridian and gallbladder meridian. When the liver is not detoxifying smoothly, problems such as migraines and acne on the cheeks will naturally occur.

Signal 4:

Stubborn acne

The accumulation of toxins in the liver can cause hormone imbalance and endocrine disorders, which in turn can cause skin problems such as acne. However, these acnes are caused by the accumulation of toxins in the liver and cannot be removed by simple external cleaning.

Signal five:

Prone to allergies

If you are not allergic to many things normally but suddenly develop an "allergic constitution", then you should be careful about your liver health. Because the liver produces antibodies to fight allergens. When the liver starts to "strike", the body's resistance to some allergens will weaken, and the brain will respond by producing histamine. When too much histamine accumulates in the body for a long period of time, allergic symptoms will occur, such as headaches, itching, and dizziness.

Signal six:

Red, bloodshot eyes

Liver fire or wind-heat evil qi ascends along the liver meridian and reaches the eyes, causing the eyes to become more irritated and turn red. When excessive liver fire reaches the eyes, it can cause eye inflammation and the appearance of red bloodshot eyes.

Signal seven:

Dark-faced "yellow-faced woman"

<<:  Pain in the liver area and frequent farting

>>:  The best medicine to repair liver cells
