What causes red nails?

5. The appearance of horizontal grooves on the nails indicates malnutrition or some serious illness that temporarily affects nail growth, such as measles, mumps, heart attack and other problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome.

6. Most of the skin under the nail surface has turned white, leaving only a small part near the tip of the nail that still has the normal pink color. This may indicate cirrhosis of the liver.

7. Nail symptom: The growth rate of nails slows down, and they become thick and hard, with yellow or yellow-green color. Causes include chronic respiratory disease, thyroid disease or lymphatic disease.

8. Flaky bleeding If these longitudinal red lines appear on the nails, it indicates microvascular bleeding. If multiple lines are present, it may indicate chronic high blood pressure, psoriasis, or a potentially fatal infection called subacute bacterial endocarditis.

9. Regular pits: Many psoriasis patients have this phenomenon.

10. If the surface of the nails becomes like the copper-lead surface hammered by a coppersmith, it is sometimes caused by alopecia areata. This is a human immune disease that is not well understood by medical scientists and can cause partial or complete loss of hair.

11. Spots or dark spots These spots, especially those that extend from the nails to the surrounding finger tissue, may indicate melanoma. They may be a single large patch or a cluster of smaller spots, and are most common on the thumbs and big toes.
