The liver is afraid of blockage, the heart is afraid of fatigue, the spleen is afraid of cold, the lungs are afraid of smoke, and the kidneys are afraid of dryness.

The liver is afraid of blockage, the heart is afraid of fatigue, the spleen is afraid of cold, the lungs are afraid of smoke, and the kidneys are afraid of dryness.

In traditional Chinese medicine, the five internal organs of the heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys are not only organs of the body, but also the ultimate destination of human health. In the busy social environment, the five internal organs bear many burdens that they should not bear. Some bad habits often subtly harm the five internal organs and our physical health.

1. “Liver General” is afraid of congestion

"The liver grows and develops like trees." According to Taoist medical theory, the liver is the general's organ, and its characteristics are that it is responsible for venting, likes to be smooth, and hates depression. Only when the liver is unrestrained can the body reach a state of relaxation and release, like a tree with outstretched branches and leaves. But the following bad habits often cause trouble to the liver.

Drinking too much alcohol. Drinking a small amount of alcohol can invigorate blood circulation, but drinking too much can easily disrupt the liver.

Feeling depressed. Depression, anger, pettiness and other conditions will prevent the liver from relaxing. Stagnation of liver qi can lead to a series of diseases, such as stomach pain, headache, high blood pressure, etc.

Overuse of eyes. The liver stores abundant blood, and its main function is to keep the eyes bright. Watching TV or looking at the computer for a long time can easily lead to overstrain of the eyes, which can lead to liver blood deficiency.

The rising Yang energy in spring helps the liver to vent. You can eat some sour food, which can strengthen the spleen and appetite and enhance liver function. The most important thing is to keep a happy mood and never be a slave to your emotions; do not be angry for more than 3 minutes and do not make blind decisions when you are angry.

2. The “heart ruler” is afraid of being tired

The heart controls blood vessels and is an organ with very strong yang energy, equivalent to the king of a country. If the heart qi is vigorous, the complexion will be moist and rosy. Otherwise, symptoms such as chest pain, facial pain, and weak heart energy will appear. Therefore, some "sad" bad habits need special attention.

Receive massive amounts of information. Modern people receive a lot of information every day, which can easily make people confused. If the "heart monarch" becomes restless and irritable, it will affect the coordination of other "departments".

Feeling depressed and tired. The greatest fatigue a person can experience is mental fatigue. Being unable to see things clearly and let go will lead to an imbalance in the regulatory functions of the organs in the body.

The most effective way to nourish the heart is to lie down or sit quietly for 30 minutes at noon, but avoid going to bed immediately after lunch. Bitterness enters the heart, so eating bitter food in summer can not only clear the heart fire, but also nourish the heart. Doing some aerobic exercise and getting more sunlight are also good for your heart.

3. Avoid cold food for spleen and stomach

"The spleen and stomach are the roots of health." The spleen mentioned in Taoist medicine actually includes two organs, the spleen and pancreas, and the spleen and stomach are often treated as a whole. Food needs to be transformed by the spleen to become fine particles, and then transformed into essence, qi, etc. to nourish the internal organs. Bad habits that damage the spleen are mainly related to diet.

The food is too raw, too cold, and too filling. Raw and cold food will bring cold air into the body and easily damage the spleen and stomach. And skipping one meal and then filling the stomach one meal can also cause great harm to it.

Overthinking. Taoist medicine believes that "thinking hurts the spleen". If you think too much, it will damage your spleen, thereby affecting the digestion and absorption of food.

Some medicines are most harmful to the spleen and stomach. Many Western medicines will irritate the stomach and intestines, such as ferrous sulfate, guanethidine, aspirin, etc. Some bitter and cold Chinese medicines, such as Isatis root, should not be taken for a long time by people with weak and cold constitutions or frequent diarrhea.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that sweetness enters the spleen, and eating sweet foods can nourish qi and blood, and harmonize the spleen and stomach. You should eat some sweet foods appropriately, such as yam, sweet potato, etc. Drinking some millet porridge between 7 and 9 in the morning is also good for people with weak spleen and stomach.

4. Lungs are afraid of bad environment

The lungs are like a big umbrella, covering the five internal organs. When the lung qi is harmonious, the qi flow is unobstructed and the five internal organs can function normally. The strength of lung qi also affects the length of life.

Long-term smoking. Tobacco has a strong irritating effect and smoking is extremely harmful to the lungs.

Staying in places with bad air for too long. The lungs have high requirements for the environment, and fresh air is their favorite. If you stay in an environment with dense exhaust fumes and smoke for too long, your lungs will protest.

Excessive sadness. As early as in the "Inner Canon of Medicine", there was a record of "sadness damages the lungs", which means that excessive sadness and grief will seriously damage the function of the human lungs.

After getting up in the morning, you can find a place with fresh air and take a deep breath. Eat more vegetables and fruits rich in vitamins. In autumn, you can eat more yin-nourishing white fungus and heat-clearing autumn pears. Taoist medicine even has a saying that "laughing often can clear the lungs". Laughing can make people calm and has many benefits for the lungs.

5. The kidneys cannot lack water

The kidneys control water and store essence, and are the regulatory center of life activities. Kidney essence determines the growth, development and reproduction of the body. Therefore, to protect your kidneys, you must abandon the following bad habits.

Eat salty food. Taoist medicine says that salty taste enters the kidneys, and when the vital energy is weak, the taste will become heavier.

Don't drink water. Many people don’t like to drink water, which is actually very harmful to the kidneys.

The nightlife is too rich. Activities such as staying up late and singing all night are actually very harmful to the kidneys. It causes damage to kidney yin and leads to the rise of virtual fire. If you are in an excited state for a long time, you will experience symptoms such as lack of energy afterwards.

Clench your teeth and then relax, repeat this hundreds of times every day, to prevent the leakage of kidney energy. Soaking your feet in hot water and massaging the soles of your feet can strengthen the kidneys and nourish the yin. In terms of diet, eating more nuts and adding some wolfberries when making tea can help nourish the kidneys.
