It replenishes kidney qi and treats gynecological diseases, and is loved by both men and women

Taixi acupoint is where the kidney meridian's vital energy accumulates. The "Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion" records: "If the patient is in critical condition and has a yang loss crisis, or a yin loss leading to yang loss, the doctor should urgently use acupuncture at this acupoint to restore yang and save the patient. These nine acupoints are all effective for clinical emergency treatment, and they are even more effective if used together. These nine acupoints are Yamen, Laogong, Sanyinjiao, Yongquan, Taixi, Zhongwan, Huantiao, Zusanli, and Hegu."

Therefore, there is a folk song in traditional Chinese medicine that says: "Yamen, Laogong, Sanyinjiao, Yongquan, Taixi, Zhongwan, Huantiao, Sanli, and Hegu, these are the nine needle points for returning to Yang." As the original point besides the gathering place of kidney Qi, Taixi point naturally plays a huge role in regulating and supporting the kidney essence.

Taixi point is located in the depression at the posterior edge of the medial malleolus of the human foot and is easy to find. People who are physically weak, especially those with kidney deficiency, usually do not experience any reaction when pressing this acupoint, and the point will sink when pressed. If this is the case, everyone must be vigilant. If it doesn't hurt, you must rub it until it hurts, and if it hurts, you must rub it until it doesn't hurt.

It doesn't hurt because the qi and blood here are too weak, just like a water pipe. If only a trickle passes through, it won't swell up. It will sink if you press it lightly with your finger. The pain is because there is blood stasis in this place. The blood is stagnant here and will not move, so you will naturally feel pain when you press it. Therefore, the purpose of frequently massaging the Taixi acupoint is to unblock Qi and blood, allowing kidney Qi and blood to flow smoothly to the Yongquan acupoint on the sole of the foot and be stored. This way, everyone will have a foundation for health.

I remember a patient who came to me for treatment because of heel pain. He said he had been to several hospitals for treatment, had X-rays taken, and took a lot of medicine, but there was no effect. I pressed his Taixi acupoint and asked him if it hurt, and he said no. When I pressed my fingers on his Yongquan acupoint, he immediately felt pain. I said, "Brother, your condition is caused by kidney deficiency. Go home and press the two acupoints more. It will help relieve your heel pain." Sure enough, a month later, he called me and told me that his heel pain was gone.

We all know that the kidney meridian passes through the heels and ankles. From the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, pain in this area is mostly related to insufficient kidney qi. The Taixi point is a great tonic point on the kidney meridian. When you have nothing to do, rub this point more often. It can not only replenish kidney Qi, but also dredge the meridians and activate the collaterals, thus keeping the kidney meridian unobstructed.

Many people mistakenly believe that only men suffer from kidney deficiency. In fact, many women, especially middle-aged and elderly women, are also prone to kidney deficiency. Some women often feel renal colic or abdominal pain during menstruation. These are all manifestations of insufficient kidney qi. At this time, massaging the Taixi acupoint is very effective. Therefore, frequently pressing the Taixi acupoint is also very helpful for women's gynecological health.

In addition, some people are often troubled by gout, high uric acid or urinary incontinence. In fact, these are all manifestations of insufficient kidney qi. A year ago, I treated a patient who was in his early thirties and suffered from urinary incontinence. What made her extremely distressed was that she could never hold her urine. She would become incontinent if she moved a little more. Sometimes even a sneeze would cause her to do so. She didn't even dare to laugh out loud or interact with others, for fear that others would laugh at her.

Later, she came to me for treatment through a friend's introduction. After the diagnosis, I found that she had a typical case of urinary incontinence caused by weak kidney qi. I placed a vacuum cup on each of the kidney points on her back, and then massaged the Taixi points on both feet for 10 minutes each. I told her to massage the Taixi points using the same technique after returning home. As long as she persists for about half a month, there will be significant results.

As a result, she came for a follow-up visit 20 days later and told me that the symptoms of urinary incontinence had improved significantly. After persisting for a period of time, the symptoms had completely disappeared.

Therefore, don’t underestimate such a small acupoint. Knowing some knowledge of acupoint massage can cure many diseases. However, when massaging the Taixi acupoint, you should pay attention to the technique and mainly use the thumb, index finger and middle finger. You can flexibly combine the thumb pushing method, the index finger outer edge scraping method and the index and middle finger tapping method. The strength of massaging should be enough to cause a feeling of soreness and swelling.

The best time for massage is between 5 and 7 p.m., which is the time when the kidney meridian flows. Pressing and rubbing this point during this time period will have a better effect. You can also go to the pharmacy to buy some moxa sticks and use them to moxibustion the Taixi acupoint, and then combine it with acupoint massage. This two-pronged approach will have a better effect. However, friends who have never done this before should consult a doctor first and proceed under the doctor's guidance.
