Is myocarditis hereditary?

Myocarditis refers to an inflammatory disease that spreads in the local tissues of the heart, usually in three stages: acute, subacute and chronic. Because many people do not understand the condition, it will gradually worsen. Many people are worried that although this disease is serious, it will be very scary if it is inherited. In fact, there is no need to worry so much. We need to get checked to know.

Myocarditis refers to localized or diffuse acute, subacute, or chronic inflammatory lesions in myocardial tissue. Many studies suggest that a small number of cases of myocarditis may eventually lead to cardiomyopathy, and some scholars even believe that there is a causal relationship between myocarditis and cardiomyopathy.

We believe that the current research results cannot fully support a causal relationship, but it is certain that there is a correlation between the two. Myocarditis is often part of various systemic diseases. In recent years, further understanding of myocarditis has been gained. Myocarditis has become one of the common heart diseases and has received increasing attention from the medical community. Depending on the different pathogenic factors, myocarditis is divided into the following categories:

( 1) Viral myocarditis is the most common type of myocarditis, and its incidence rate is increasing year by year.

(2) Isolated myocarditis is relatively rare and the cause is unknown. It is speculated that it may also be a viral infection.

(3) Toxic myocarditis often occurs secondary to or simultaneously with diphtheria myocarditis, typhoid myocarditis, drug-induced myocarditis, acute and chronic carbon monoxide poisoning, chronic lead poisoning, and myocarditis caused by severe burns.

(4) Parasitic myocarditis.

(5) Collagen-induced myocarditis.

(6) Metabolic myocarditis.

(7) Bacterial infectious myocarditis.

Among the above-mentioned types of myocarditis, isolated myocarditis is also an acute interstitial myocarditis of unknown cause, also known as primary myocarditis. It is more common in men around 30 years old. The disease progresses rapidly and can develop into heart failure or even death in a short period of time. The prognosis is extremely poor, so it is also called malignant myocarditis.
