What are the causes of tinnitus and hearing loss?

We all know that ears and eyes are the two doors through which you sense the world, and neither of them can be missing. So what are the factors that cause tinnitus and hearing loss?

1. Genetic factors. If the patient begins to experience hearing loss in his or her forties or fifties, then the elders or relatives in the family should be considered. If they also begin to experience hearing loss in this age group, this may be caused by genetic factors.

2. Long-term noise disturbance. Whether it is the sound of a machine operating or a horn, any noisy and disorderly sound can damage the eardrum. In life, we should try to avoid long-term exposure to noisy environments, such as the sound of firecrackers or the rumble of machine tools. If we have to be exposed to them, we must take protective measures.

3. Disease and external trauma. Colds, mumps or shingles can easily damage your hearing.

4. Ototoxic drugs. Many antibiotics in life can cause irreversible hearing damage if used improperly. People born in the 1950s and 1960s have used gentamicin and streptomycin, which are ototoxic drugs that can seriously damage hearing and even cause deafness.

5. Improper use of ears. Nowadays, young people like to turn up the volume of the speakers very high when listening to music, or listen to MP3 and MP4 with headphones for a long time, which are harmful to the eardrum. According to the standard, any sound that exceeds 80 decibels for a long time is considered noise. Whether it is music or other types of sound, it is not good for the ears.

6. Emotionally excited and nervous. The most obvious example is quarreling. Whether it is a conflict within the family or between colleagues, once an argument breaks out, anger may lead to tinnitus or even worse. In addition, long-term mental stress and a depressed and unhappy mood can lead to insomnia, and over time it can also cause damage to the auditory nerves.

Warm reminder: The ear is an important organ in the human body. It allows us to perceive the world in a way that is not necessary to see, listen to beautiful music, listen to the stream in the woods, or enjoy the words of a loved one.
