How to treat frozen shoulder with hot compress

Hot compress can also effectively treat diseases such as periarthritis of the shoulder. Common hot compress methods include towel hot compress, hot water bag hot compress, salt hot compress, sand hot compress and onion hot compress. You can choose according to your own.

Hot towel compress

First soak the towel in a basin of hot water, take it out and wring it until half dry, then apply the hot towel of appropriate temperature to the painful area of ​​the affected shoulder. Cover the towel with a layer of plastic cloth (paper) and then cover it with a cotton pad to reduce heat loss. Prepare two towels so that you can use them alternately. Change the towel every 5 minutes. One hot compress treatment should last for 15 to 20 minutes. Apply hot compress 1 to 2 times a day. Dry the skin immediately after hot compress. Put on clothes in time in winter to avoid cold.

Hot water bottle heat compress

Choose a hot water bag of appropriate size. First check whether the hot water bag is leaking. Then fill the hot water bag with hot water (60℃~70℃) to two-thirds of its capacity, expel the gas, tighten the bag opening, wipe off the water on the outside of the bag, put it in a cloth cover, or wrap it in cloth for later use. When applying hot compress, remove the cloth cover or wrap and apply it directly to the affected shoulder. Usually apply hot compress for 15 to 20 minutes each time, 1 to 2 times a day.

Salt hot compress

When applying the salt hot compress method, choose an appropriate amount of table salt with uniform particle size and no impurities, pour it into an iron pan, heat it slowly over low heat, stirring while heating, and when the temperature reaches 55℃~60℃, pour it into a cloth bag, tie the mouth, and apply it to the area of ​​the affected shoulder where soreness, heaviness and pain are obvious. Usually apply hot compress for 15 to 20 minutes each time, 1 to 2 times a day.

Hot sand compress

Take an appropriate amount of fine sand, fry it in an iron pan, wrap it with cloth, and apply it to the painful area of ​​the shoulder joint while it is still hot. The degree should be such that the patient feels comfortable and can tolerate it. Apply hot compress 1 to 2 times a day, each time lasting 20 to 40 minutes.

Onion hot compress

When applying the onion hot compress method, take an appropriate amount of fresh onion whites, mash them, and put them in an iron pan to fry until hot. Wrap them with cloth, tie them tightly, and place them on the painful area of ​​the affected shoulder while they are still hot for hot compress. Usually apply hot compress for 15 to 20 minutes each time, 1 to 2 times a day.
