How do you know when your breasts are empty?

How do you know when your breasts are empty?

Women's breasts generally become larger after pregnancy. Women can keep their breasts in a healthy state by making good use of the breastfeeding period. During breastfeeding, we need to observe the milk in the breasts in a timely manner. We must not let the baby be unable to drink water, nor let too much milk flow in the breasts. The milk needs to be emptied in time. So how do you know when your breasts are empty?

How to empty the breasts?

1. Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding is so much better than a breast pump! If the baby sucks more, the amount of milk in the breast will decrease rapidly. In addition, mothers must pay attention when breastfeeding. They should take turns feeding both sides and never feed only one side. Otherwise, not only will the breasts be uneven, but it will also be easy to develop mastitis. More importantly, it is not good for the baby's development.

2. Breastfeeding

In addition to feeding your baby more milk, you should also use a breast pump or manually express some milk in the interval between feedings. A breast pump can basically empty the breasts every time, and it is easier to tell whether the breasts are empty using a breast pump. If your breasts still feel swollen after breastfeeding, it means that the milk has not been completely sucked out. It is recommended to squeeze out the remaining milk.

3. Auxiliary methods

Hot compress: Before breastfeeding or expressing milk, apply a hot towel for about 3 minutes, not too hot; after applying the hot towel, be sure to express the milk in time, either by sucking or squeezing, this step cannot be missed.

Cold compress: Mainly applied after milk discharge. You can try using a clean towel, refrigerated vegetable leaves, etc. massage. You can massage the hard areas slightly, but remember not to use too much force!

How can breastfeeding mothers promote milk secretion?

1. Support breastfeeding as much as possible and let your baby suck your breast more often.

2. Keep a happy mood and avoid anxiety and tension. Medical experiments have shown that when a mother is depressed, her milk secretion will decrease sharply.

3. Eat more milk-producing foods to supplement nutrition. In order to produce milk, mothers must have enough nutrition, such as milk, eggs, vegetables, fruits, etc., and eat them all. At the same time, they should drink more water, such as fresh fish soup, chicken soup, fresh milk, boiled water and other soup drinks. The effect will be better if combined with some milk-increasing recipes.

4. Breastfeeding mothers should avoid consuming too much fat. Too much fat will make the milk thick, which will block the milk ducts and cause blockage. Breastfeeding mothers can eat foods rich in lecithin, which can increase the percentage of unsaturated fatty acids in breast milk and thus reduce the thickness of the breast milk.

5. Pay attention to feeding techniques. New mothers should pay attention to breastfeeding alternately with their left and right breasts, and each feeding time should be approximately 10 minutes on each side. The milk should be emptied in time. If the baby cannot eat up all the milk, the milk should be emptied about 6 to 8 times a day. Only when the granary is emptied can new food be put in!

6. Mommy should be careful when taking medication. If necessary, she needs to take the medication under the doctor's advice. Drugs have a significant impact on milk secretion, so be sure to pay attention!
