Detailed explanation of why eyes are afraid of light and wind and shed tears

Fear of light may be caused by poor eyesight or myopia. Eye fatigue or some eye diseases may also cause fear of light. If you are afraid of the wind and your eyes tear up, it may be wind eye. Some people are afraid of the light. It is recommended that you go to the hospital for relevant examinations.

Most people will feel photophobia and discomfort when they are under the sun or exposed to strong light. The normal reaction is to squint the eyes or use other items to help block the sunlight to reduce eye discomfort, but some people will feel uncomfortable even under normal light intensity. We can say that these people have photophobia.

First of all, we should understand which eye or body diseases can cause photophobia, and then treat the cause with the right medicine to improve the photophobia. The most common cause of photophobia is inflammatory reactions in the front part of the eye, including: conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal foreign bodies, corneal breakage, corneal ulcers, iritis and iridocyclitis. This type of inflammatory eye disease should be treated promptly by an ophthalmologist; appropriate treatment will improve the photophobia. In addition, dry eye patients may be more sensitive to external stimuli due to lack of sufficient tear moisture, and their eyes may be afraid of light. Reducing unnecessary stimulation to the eyes and using artificial tears under the doctor's instructions can slightly improve the photophobia.

Some non-inflammatory eye diseases can also cause photophobia, such as albinism, aniridia, and total blindness caused by autologous inheritance. There is currently no medical cure for photophobia caused by this type of disease, so the only treatment is passive, such as wearing sunglasses or hats when going out and keeping the indoor light to a minimum.
