Solar dermatitis is a type of dermatitis that has a great impact on skin health. It is caused by many factors, both internal and external. For example, if the sunlight is strong, it will cause damage from ultraviolet rays, which often leads to toxic reactions on the skin. At this time, the skin will experience flushing, burning, and pain, etc. Severe cases can cause blisters and lead to erosion. There are many causes of dermatitis It mainly includes internal factors and external factors. Among them, the internal factors mainly refer to the instability of one's own internal environment, such as chronic digestive system diseases, mental stress, insomnia, excessive fatigue and other mental disorders, as well as metabolic disorders and endocrine disorders. There are many external factors that induce dermatitis, mainly including improper diet, inhalation or contact with allergens, and climate change, such as eating seafood, smoking and drinking, inhaling pollen, dust mites, or contact with chemicals, soaps, detergents, etc. What are the symptoms of photodermatitis There are many different types of dermatitis, each with its own symptoms. However, many people are not very clear about this. The overall symptoms are redness and swelling of the skin in flakes, strips or irregular shapes. When there is exudation, it may be covered with scabs. When the skin is damaged, erosion or ulcers may appear, and there is local pain and itching. Photodermatitis is an acute phototoxic reaction caused by prolonged exposure of the skin to ultraviolet rays in sunlight. Clinically, it manifests as redness, burning pain, and even blisters in the exposed area. Generally, after several hours to more than ten hours of sun exposure, the patient's face, neck, arms, and V-shaped area on the chest and other exposed areas will experience redness and swelling, and they will feel burning or stinging, especially when touched. The symptoms often reach a peak within 24 hours. For patients with milder symptoms, the inflammation gradually subsides after 2 to 3 days, with only desquamation or mild pigmentation remaining. In severe cases, blisters and even erosion may occur in the red and swollen area. It may be accompanied by systemic symptoms such as chills, fever, dizziness, headache, nausea, vomiting, and even palpitations, delirium or shock, which may take more than a week to recover. A small number of patients even develop chronic damage due to long-term sun exposure, such as skin thickening, keratinization, atrophy, capillary dilation, and pigmentation or hypopigmentation. Treatment 1. Tacrolimus ointment: It is suitable for patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis who are not suitable for traditional treatments due to potential risks, have inadequate response to traditional treatments, or cannot tolerate traditional treatments, as a short-term or intermittent long-term treatment. Both 0.03% and 0.1% tacrolimus ointment can be used in adults, but only 0.03% tacrolimus ointment can be used in children 2 years and older. 2. Pimecrolimus Cream: Suitable for patients with mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (eczema) aged 2 years and above who are not immunocompromised. 1. For short-term treatment of signs and symptoms of disease. 2. Long-term intermittent treatment to prevent worsening of the disease. 3. Halometasone and triclosan cream: used for inflammatory skin diseases of various types and locations that have been complicated by secondary infection with triclosan-sensitive bacteria and for which corticosteroids are effective. For example, seborrheic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, atopic dermatitis, localized neurodermatitis, nummular eczema, skin intertrigo and skin fungal diseases are all characterized by acute inflammation. |
