Causes of transient mental disorder

Causes of transient mental disorder

The cause of intermittent transient mental disorder is relatively complex. There are many factors that cause patients to become ill, including genetic factors and external social factors. For example, some sudden events, strong stimulation to patients, emotional pressure in life, work pressure, economic pressure, etc., may all induce patients to become ill. In addition, genetic factors are also an important cause of the disease.

Causes of transient mental disorder

Acute transient mental disorders caused by external stimuli are the most common psychogenic mental disorders, and the pathogenic factors are closely related to the individual's social, psychological, physical, and moral factors.

1. Social factors: With the rapid development of modern science and technology, dense urban populations, various noises, air and water pollution, accelerated pace of life, traffic congestion, fierce competition, housing difficulties, unemployment, layoffs, natural disasters, and increased interpersonal conflicts, all of which can easily cause anxiety and tension and become an important source of mental disorders. 2. Psychological factors Psychological factors are closely related to mental disorders. Some foreign scholars believe that normal and abnormal behaviors are the result of conflicts between conscious and unconscious desires or instincts. Psychological disorders or mental illnesses are mainly the result of anxiety and emotional defense reactions caused by the subconscious conflict between the id's desires and the superego's control. This conflict begins in infancy and is based on the biological instinctive desire to strongly resist social constraints. In order to alleviate the anxiety caused by the conflict between the id and the superego, the ego has developed various means of preventing anxiety, namely psychological defense mechanisms. Those who manage to minimize their inner psychological conflicts by developing effective coping strategies (or defense mechanisms) are psychologically healthy people. The intentional or unintentional excessive use of a single or concentrated defense mechanism, which dominates the individual's personality and its development or damages his effective function, will lead to some psychological abnormality or mental disorder.

3. Moral factors : Swearing, hitting, exaggerated performances, etc. also involve personality issues.
