The efficacy of boiling cypress leaves in water

If there are Cupressaceae plants near your home, it is easier to see cypress leaves. Cypress leaves appear relatively small and of varying lengths. The color of cypress leaves is dark green, so when a whole forest of cypress trees appears in front of you, it is very magnificent. In fact, cypress leaves are also a kind of medicinal material that can be boiled in water and drunk. So, what is the effect of boiling cypress leaves in water? Let me give you a detailed introduction below.

Platycladus orientalis leaves are the tender branches of the Platycladus orientalis tree, a green plant of the Cupressaceae family. The leaves of the Chinese medicinal herb Platycladus orientalis are mostly branched, small and of varying lengths, and scaly. The shade is light brown. The leaves can be seen facing each other, and the cross section is yellow-white. The material is brittle and easily broken. It has a faint fragrance and bitter taste. It is a kind of hemostatic hemostatic drug among Chinese herbal medicines. It has the effects of promoting blood circulation, blackening temples, relieving cough and reducing phlegm and asthma.

Function: Promote blood circulation, eliminate rheumatism, and disperse swelling and toxins. It is used to treat vomiting blood, epistaxis, blood in urine, bloody dysentery, intestinal wind, metrorrhagia, rheumatic arthralgia, bacterial dysentery, hypertension, cough, erysipelas, mumps, and burns.

Treat hair loss. Soak cypress leaves in 60% ethanol, filter out the liquid after 7 days, and apply it to the area where the hair has fallen out, 3 times a day. 13 cases were observed (all with hair loss on the forehead, top of the head to the back of the head, excluding alopecia areata), and all of them saw hair growth after treatment. If the application can be continued and the drug concentration can be increased as appropriate, the hair can grow thicker and will not fall out.

Treat whooping cough. Use 1 liang of fresh Platycladus orientalis leaves (including young branches), boil them in water to get 100ml, then add 20ml of pure honey. If using dried slices, decoct 150ml of each liang and add 30ml of pure honey. Dosage: 10-15 ml each time for children under 1 year old, 15-30 ml for children 1-3 years old, 30-50 ml for children over 4 years old, 3 times a day. The required period is 1 to 3 weeks depending on the condition. The faster the treatment, the higher the efficacy and the shorter the treatment process. When preparing this agent, you may add additives as appropriate, otherwise it will turn into a strange smell or produce white foam after more than 4 days. The best effect is achieved when the arborvitae is fresh.

Treat chronic bronchitis. Take 3700 grams of Platycladus orientalis leaves, decoct in water and extract into a 1:2 thick paste; grind another 300 grams of Platycladus orientalis leaves into fine powder, mix into the thick paste, air-dry, and take one piece, each piece weighs 0.5 grams. Take 4 tablets 3 times a day after meals. One treatment course is 10 days. Or use 1.5 liang of Platycladus orientalis leaves and Artemisia argyi (also known as Artemisia selengensis), make them into tablets, and take them three times a day after meals. A treatment cycle is 10 days. Adverse reactions include upper abdominal discomfort, abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, dry throat, dizziness, etc. These do not need to be resolved and will resolve on their own in a short period of time. A very small number of patients have experienced itchy rashes or swelling of the upper eyelids, face, legs and feet. These may be symptoms of drug allergy and will disappear on their own after stopping the medication.

Treat acute and chronic bacterial dysentery. Dry or roast the Platycladus orientalis leaves and grind them into coarse powder. Add 18% ethanol and soak the leaves until they are completely covered. Soak for 4 days and nights and filter out the extract. Take 50ml each time (reduce the dosage for children), 3 times a day, and one treatment course is 7 to 10 days. A total of 114 cases were treated, 100 of which were cured, with a treatment rate of 87.7%. The experiment proved that the extract had good antibacterial or sterilization effect. If it is boiled, sterilized under high pressure, or additives are added, its efficacy will be affected. Treats vomiting blood. 15 grams each of cypress leaves and roasted ginger, and three handfuls of mugwort. Take the above three ingredients, add five liters of water and one liter of Ma Tong juice, boil them together, take out one liter, divide into portions and drink while warm.
