What is the cause of the horizontal lines on the forearm?

If there is a horizontal line on your forearm, it may be caused by excessive obesity. Of course, it may also be caused by disease. The most common one is rhabdomyoma. Rhabdomyoma is a relatively serious disease. When this disease occurs, it must be treated in time. The best method is surgical treatment. In addition, you should eat a balanced diet in daily life and avoid eating lukewarm or overheated food.

What is rhabdomyosarcoma

Rhabdomyosarcoma is a malignant tumor originating from striated muscle cells or mesenchymal cells that differentiate into striated muscle cells. It is the most common soft tissue sarcoma in children. The incidence of rhabdomyosarcoma ranks third among soft tissue sarcomas, after malignant fibrous histiocytoma and liposarcoma. It occurs less frequently in adults, and more frequently in men than in women. Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma occurs mostly in children under 8 years of age (average age is 6 years old); alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma occurs in adolescent males (average age is 12 years old); pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma is common in adults but can also be seen in children.

The cause of rhabdomyosarcoma is unclear. It is a malignant soft tissue tumor composed of rhabdomyoblasts of various degrees of differentiation. This disease may be related to genetic factors, chromosomal abnormalities, gene fusion and other factors

Treatment

1. Surgical treatment of rhabdomyosarcoma is mainly surgical resection, and the resection range includes all muscles where the tumor is located. For embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, in addition to resection, chemotherapy and radiotherapy should be combined to relieve symptoms; pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma is not effective for chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

2. When rhabdomyosarcoma cannot be completely removed by chemotherapy , the patient must undergo chemotherapy. Chemotherapy can completely eliminate any remaining tumors. Even if the tumor appears to be completely removed, chemotherapy may still be necessary. There are many cytotoxic chemotherapy drugs, most of which are administered intravenously. The main drugs used for completely resected embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma are vincristine and dactinomycin; cyclophosphamide is also commonly used for class II and class III tumors. Ifosfamide can kill rhabdomyosarcoma cells and is expected to improve the survival rate of patients with type IV disease. Chemotherapy drugs can also kill some normal cells and cause side effects. Side effects include hair loss, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, fatigue, anemia, and susceptibility to infection. Most side effects go away after you stop taking the medication, but some drugs can permanently damage cells in the ovaries and testicles, making it difficult or even impossible to have children. Damage to the kidneys and bladder from cyclophosphamide or ifosfamide is also permanent.

3. Radiotherapy is a very effective means for rhabdomyosarcoma and can be used as an adjuvant treatment for surgical treatment. The radiation dose is selected according to age and location. The radiation field should include the tumor bed and the surrounding 2 to 5 cm of normal tissue. The effective radiation dose should not be less than 40Gy. 4. Magnetic induction therapy Magnetic induction therapy uses the principle that ferromagnetic materials generate heat under an alternating magnetic field to raise the temperature of tumor tissue to an effective temperature, thereby achieving the purpose of treatment. Magnetic induction therapy has the characteristics of targeting, conformality, self-temperature control, internal heating, repeatability, and large temperature difference between normal tissue and tumor. It is expected to overcome the shortcomings of previous local tumor thermal therapy methods and become a new and effective means of treating tumors.
