Acupuncture treatment

Acupuncture treatment

Acupuncture is a practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is an effective way to treat many diseases by treating acupuncture points, such as neurological diseases and rheumatism. Stimulating acupuncture points can relieve pressure on nerves and effectively relieve physical fatigue. Acupuncture requires the selection of the correct acupoints, and it also requires certain skills. Generally, we need to go to the hospital and let the doctor help us perform the acupuncture surgery.

1. Neurological diseases

Herpes zoster; headache, migraine; trigeminal neuralgia; facial nerve paralysis (in the early 3-6 months); hemifacial spasm; sequelae of stroke (recovery period); insomnia (better effect for those without depression); enuresis; intercostal neuralgia, etc. Taking herpes zoster as an example, Western medicine believes that herpes zoster is a neurological damage caused by a viral infection, while traditional Chinese medicine believes that herpes is a hot and evil toxin, and can be treated with cupping, acupuncture, and bloodletting with very good results.

However, herpes must be treated in time, otherwise there will be sequelae, some of which are mainly pain, while others are mainly numbness and itching of the cutaneous nerves. It should be noted that since nerve damage is poorly reversible, the earlier such diseases are treated, the better the effect.

2. Gynecological diseases

Menstrual disorders, breast hyperplasia, dysmenorrhea, menopausal syndrome, etc. It can also be used as an auxiliary treatment for premature ovarian failure, uterine fibroids, and infertility. Dysmenorrhea is divided into two types: primary and secondary. Generally speaking, acupuncture is more effective in treating primary dysmenorrhea. So how do you determine the type of dysmenorrhea?

Primary dysmenorrhea refers to a condition in which there are no initial pain symptoms but the condition is triggered by some special reasons, such as anger, cold, or other external conditions. For the treatment of this type of disease, acupuncture is often more effective than medication. Secondary dysmenorrhea refers to dysmenorrhea caused by a certain disease, such as endometriosis, and the primary disease needs to be treated first.

3. Bone and joint diseases

Cervical spondylosis; lumbar disc herniation; stiff neck; frozen shoulder; tennis elbow; acute lumbar sprain; knee osteoarthritis; ankle sprain, etc. From the perspective of treatment mechanism, analgesia is the primary therapeutic effect of acupuncture. Therefore, acupuncture is more effective in treating some pain related to osteoarthritis.

4. Endocrine diseases

Hyperthyroidism, diabetes, obesity; chronic fatigue syndrome; acne, chloasma, etc. Among them, acupuncture is often used as an auxiliary treatment method for hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism or thyroid nodules, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, etc.

5. Respiratory diseases

Chronic bronchial asthma; pharyngitis; cold; cough; acute tonsillitis, etc.

For example, chronic bronchial asthma is manifested by shortness of breath after climbing stairs or running. After the treatment of this disease with acupuncture, cupping, and bloodletting, the patient will feel that the shortness of breath symptoms after daily activities are relieved, and when the weather cools down, the symptoms are not likely to recur or worsen. Another example is cough. Many people will cough for a long time after a cold. In this case, acupuncture treatment combined with cupping will quickly eliminate the symptoms.

6. Male diseases

Prostatitis, prostatic hyperplasia, etc., among which the symptoms of prostatitis include bifurcated urine, delayed urination, frequent urination, etc. If the diagnosis is accurate, the meridian acupoints are selected appropriately, and the depth of stimulation is appropriate, it will also have an immediate effect.

In addition, acupuncture can also treat some diseases of the five senses such as pseudomyopia, toothache, tinnitus, deafness, allergic rhinitis, etc.; digestive system diseases such as atrophic gastritis, erosive gastritis, chronic superficial gastritis, gastric ulcer, abdominal distension, diarrhea, constipation, etc.
