Clear liquid before ejaculation

Clear liquid before ejaculation

During sexual intercourse, many men experience fluid discharge before ejaculation. In fact, this is prostatic fluid. During sexual intercourse, due to stimulation, the human body secretes prostatic fluid, which is a very normal phenomenon. Of course, the prostate also has certain physiological functions and has a certain relationship with male semen. Below I will introduce you to some relevant knowledge about prostatic fluid!

1. What is prostatic fluid?

Prostatic fluid is the secretion of the prostate. The secretion of prostatic fluid is controlled by androgen, and the daily secretion volume is about 0.5~2 ml. It is an important component of semen and one of the components of seminal plasma in semen, accounting for about 1/10~1/3 of the ejaculated semen. 1/6 is about 0.5 ml. In the ejaculation sequence, prostatic fluid is one of the leading components of semen. The protein content in prostatic fluid is very low, and it mainly contains high concentrations of zinc ions, acid phosphatase, proteolytic enzymes, fibrinase, spermine, aliphatic polypeptides, etc. Among them, proteolytic enzymes and fibrinolytic enzymes can promote the liquefaction of semen. Testing acid phosphatase and citric acid can help determine prostate function and whether there is any cancer.

2. Physiological Function

1. Promote the formation of fertilized eggs: Prostatic fluid contains protease and fibrinolytic enzymes, which can help sperm pass through multiple barriers - the mucus barrier in the cervix and the zona pellucida of the egg cell, allowing sperm and egg cells to combine smoothly.

2. Stimulate sperm vitality: Prostatic fluid contains a special ingredient that enables sperm to obtain nutrients from semen and stimulate sperm vitality.

3. Promote the liquefaction of semen: The pancreatic chymosin in prostatic fluid can promote the liquefaction of semen.

4. Improve the survival rate of sperm: Prostatic fluid is slightly alkaline, which can neutralize the acidic secretions in the female vagina, reduce the erosion of acidic substances on sperm, and improve the survival rate of sperm.

5. Maintain the hygiene of the reproductive and urinary system: The prostate is located in front of the bladder and below the rectum, surrounding the urethra. The zinc ions in the prostatic fluid have a bactericidal effect, which enables the prostate to play a role in resisting external pathogens, thus helping to maintain the health of the reproductive and urinary system.

6. Improve the quality of sex life: The prostate is filled with a large number of nerve networks and nerve endings, so it is a sexually sensitive area that can stimulate sexual impulses and excitement, thus contributing to the harmony of sex life.

3. Relationship with semen

Prostatic fluid is a component of semen, accounting for about 15%-30% of semen. The normal ejaculation volume is 2-6ml, with an average of 3ml, of which about 1ml is prostatic fluid. The nutrients in the prostatic fluid provide nutrients for sperm. Prostatic fluid is slightly alkaline and helps reduce the acidity in the vagina. In addition, the semen that a man has just ejaculated is often in a viscous and coagulated state. This is because a substance called coagulation factor in the fluid secreted by the seminal vesicle is at work, the purpose of which is to prevent the semen from flowing out of the woman's vagina at will during sexual intercourse. At this time, the sperms in the semen are tied up and unable to move. How can they complete their reproductive mission? 15-20 minutes after the semen is ejaculated, a substance called liquefaction factor in the prostatic fluid, which is actually some enzyme substances, such as hyaluronidase, comes out to rescue, making the semen thinner, and the sperms are liberated. They then swim hard to the deep of the female reproductive tract to complete the combination with the egg.
