Neurological hearing and visual impairment

Psychiatric hearing and visual impairment refers to the fact that patients have many problems with their hearing and vision. First of all, patients with hearing impairment may or may not hear some things, and sometimes they can hardly hear clearly. Visual impairment can cause patients to see unclearly, have blurred vision, and even suffer from severe myopia.

Hearing impairment

Hearing impairment refers to a decrease in hearing function and difficulty in verbal communication caused by lesions or damage to a certain part of the auditory system. Overview of Visual Impairment Visual impairment can range from poor vision to total blindness. Symptoms of poor vision include blurred vision, haziness, extreme farsightedness or nearsightedness, color blindness, and tunnel vision.

Visually impaired people sometimes have difficulty viewing text or images on a computer screen or performing tasks that require eye and hand coordination (such as moving a computer mouse). The most common and often the first symptom is that retrobulbar optic neuritis causes rapid visual impairment on one or both sides, with central dark spots, irregular visual field loss and even complete blindness. In mild cases, only color vision abnormalities occur, especially darkening of red. Simultaneous bilateral involvement is rare, and usually one side is affected 2-3 weeks after the other side is affected. If only bilateral involvement occurs with no evidence of involvement elsewhere, Leber optic neuropathy should be considered. The degree of visual acuity change is often different on both sides, with one side being more affected. Optic nerve involvement may be accompanied by pain in the eye socket when the eye moves. Since most patients suffer from retrobulbar neuritis, less than 10% of patients develop optic disc edema in the acute phase.
