Sequelae of cerebral infarction

Sequelae of cerebral infarction

Cerebral infarction, which we call cerebral infarction, has a very high incidence rate now, especially among the elderly. More and more people are troubled by this disease, especially in rural areas. The incidence rate of cerebral infarction is increasing. Suffering from this disease has a great impact on the family. Severe cases can even lead to paralysis of the patient. Everyone should pay attention to the sequelae of cerebral infarction in time.

The emergence of sequelae of cerebral infarction causes serious harm to patients and their families, and has a great impact on normal life and work. Patients cannot take care of themselves and will need help from their families. Some patients will suffer a great psychological blow and don’t know what to do.

The sequelae of cerebral infarction usually occur one year later, and often include symptoms such as hemiplegia, language disorders, and facial paralysis. This period is also called the sequelae of cerebral infarction. Compared with the recovery period, the recovery speed and degree are slower.

The main sequelae of cerebral infarction include hemiplegia, hemilimb disorder, limb numbness, hemianopsia, aphasia, or crossed paralysis, crossed sensory disorder, external ophthalmoplegia, nystagmus, dyssynapsis, language disorder, memory loss, facial paralysis, dysphagia, choking on food and water, ataxia, dizziness and headache, etc.

The fundamental reason for the above symptoms is the presence of blood diseases such as high blood viscosity, high blood lipids, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, platelet aggregation and vascular diseases such as atherosclerotic plaque formation inside the cerebral blood vessels. The blood clots formed by the two diseases block the cerebral arteries, resulting in local blood flow interruption and ischemia, hypoxia and necrosis of brain tissue.

If the motor nervous system controlled by the cranial nerves is affected, corresponding sequelae such as hemiplegia and limb disability will occur. If the language center controlled by the cranial nerves is affected, corresponding neurological symptoms such as language disorders or even aphasia will occur.

Traditional Chinese medicine classifies this disease as "sequelae of stroke" and "hemipsema". It is generally believed that the disease is caused by the combined effects of wind, fire, phlegm and blood stasis on the human body, on the basis of deficiency of qi, blood, yin and yang, leading to organ dysfunction and disorder of qi and blood in the brain.

The treatment of this disease has been effective both in ancient and modern times by promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. The author often uses red yeast rice to strengthen the spleen and resolve phlegm, promote blood circulation and dredge collaterals in clinical practice, because modern pharmacology claims that it can regulate blood lipids, blood pressure and blood sugar, reduce blood viscosity, clear plaques in arteries, improve vasodilation ability, restore vascular elasticity, reduce peripheral vascular resistance, prevent cardiovascular and cerebral arteriosclerosis, improve blood supply to the heart and brain, and delay brain cell aging.

When combined with raw astragalus, it has the effects of invigorating qi and strengthening the spleen, promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, dilating blood vessels, promoting blood circulation, and promoting the flow of qi and blood. It has a good effect in treating early hypertension, diabetes, cerebral infarction, sequelae of cerebral infarction, cerebral ischemia, diabetic complications, myocardial sclerosis, myocardial infarction and other cardiovascular diseases. In addition, this product is also effective in treating senile dementia when combined with wolfberry, calamus, and alpinia oxyphylla. (Editor: alva)

The harm of sequelae of cerebral infarction

1. The first harm of sequelae of cerebral infarction is sudden severe headache. Any sudden onset of severe headache; patients with sequelae of cerebral infarction may have convulsions; recent history of head trauma; accompanied by coma, drowsiness; sudden changes in the nature, location, and distribution of the headache.

2. Patients with sequelae of cerebral infarction are prone to abnormal gait. Unsteady gait and weak legs when walking are one of the precursor symptoms of hemiplegia. If an elderly person's gait suddenly changes and is accompanied by numbness and weakness in the limbs, it is a precursor signal of cerebrovascular disease. Therefore, this is also due to the harm of the sequelae of cerebral infarction.

3. Dizziness is a very common symptom among the precursors of sequelae of cerebral infarction. It can occur at any time before cerebrovascular disease. It is most common in patients with sequelae of cerebral infarction when they wake up in the early morning. In addition, it is also prone to occur when you are tired or after taking a bath. Especially for patients with hypertension, if dizziness occurs more than 5 times in 1 to 2 days, the harm of sequelae of cerebral infarction will lead to an increased risk of cerebral hemorrhage or cerebral infarction.

The harm caused by the sequelae of cerebral infarction is very great. For patients, the symptoms will become more and more serious with each attack, and the psychological blow to patients will also become greater and greater. Many people cannot accept their own condition and will become self-destructive, which is also very unfavorable for recovery. Everyone should be able to seek treatment in time.
