Acute and transient psychotic disorder

Acute and transient psychotic disorder

Acute and transient psychotic disorder is a relatively common mental illness. The symptoms of this disease are more obvious and changeable. Patients will show many obvious signs after the onset of the disease, such as excessive jealousy, exaggerated delusions, and even suspicion of some things and paranoia.

Sudden onset

Patients with acute transient psychotic disorder often rapidly develop from a normal state to a significantly abnormal state within a few hours. Those with an explosive onset may reach a peak of symptoms within 48 hours; those with an acute onset generally have a fully developed condition within 2 days to 2 weeks.

Symptoms are distinct, varied, and varied

Patients with acute transient psychotic disorder may experience various symptoms of mental disorders, with delusion being the most prominent symptom, which may include delusions of persecution, poisoning, grandiosity, relationship, jealousy, and being controlled. The delusion structure is loose, and multiple fragmentary delusions may coexist, and a variety of vivid hallucinations may occur on the basis of the delusion. Patients have confused thinking structure, disordered language, emotional disorders, and may also have severe behavioral disorders or manifestations of tension.

Short course

Patients with acute transient psychotic disorder generally return to normal within a few days to a few weeks, usually no more than a month.

Good prognosis

Patients with acute transient psychotic disorder have severely impaired social functions when the disease occurs, are unable to take care of themselves, are difficult to approach, or pose a threat to society. However, the prognosis of patients is generally good, and only a few patients may have a tendency to relapse.
