Burns are a relatively common injury. After being burned, the skin will not only feel intense pain, but may also develop blisters. These blister injuries need to be treated in a timely manner, otherwise they will leave great hidden dangers. Of course, in addition to treating wounds, people must also learn how to prevent burns and how to deal with them immediately after they have been burned. Below, we will introduce in detail how to deal with burns and how to prevent burns.
1. How to deal with blisters caused by burns 1. Rinse the injured area with cold water first, and then soak the injured area in cold water for half an hour. Generally speaking, the earlier the soaking time and the lower the water temperature (not lower than 5°C to avoid frostbite), the better the effect. However, if the wound has blistered and broken, do not soak it to prevent infection. 2. Gently apply light salt water to the burned area to reduce inflammation. 3. Apply soy sauce, honey, lard, dog oil or ginger juice on the injured area, which will be effective (but this should not be done if the burn is severe). 4. Use egg white, cooked honey or sesame oil, mix well and apply to the injured area, which has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects. 5. Cut a few slices of raw pear and apply them to the burned area. It has an astringent and analgesic effect. 6. After a child is scalded, boil 25 grams of black beans with water to make a thick juice, and apply it to the wound. It is effective. 7. For mild burns, you can roast the dry tea residue over fire until it is slightly charred, then grind it into powder, mix it with vegetable oil to make a paste, and apply it to the injured area to reduce swelling and relieve pain. 8. After the skin of hands and feet is scalded, immediately pour alcohol into a basin or bucket and immerse the injured area in the alcohol. This will relieve pain, reduce redness and prevent blistering. If soaked for 1 to 2 hours, the scalded skin will gradually return to normal. If the injured area is not in a location that is easily soaked, you can soak a piece of cotton wool in white wine, take it out and apply it to the injured area, and pour wine on the cotton wool at any time to prevent it from drying out. Good results can be seen even after a few hours. 9. After the skin is scalded by oil or boiling water, you can apply wind oil, flower oil or vegetable oil (such as sesame oil) directly to the wound. If the skin is not broken, the pain can usually be relieved in 5 minutes. 10. Apply chloramphenicol eye ointment to the injured area, which will reduce swelling and relieve pain after a few minutes. 2. How to prevent burns 1. When using a hot water bottle to keep warm in winter, wrap the hot water bottle with a towel so that it does not feel hot to the touch. Note that the lid of the hot water bottle must be tightened and it can be placed in the blanket only after inspection. Change the warm water regularly to keep warm without causing burns. 2. When taking a bath, you should first add cold water and then hot water, and the water temperature should not be higher than 40℃. The temperature of the water heater should be adjusted to below 50℃, because when the water temperature is between 65℃ and 70℃, a young child may be severely scalded within two seconds. 3. Be sure to set up fences around heaters and stoves to prevent children from getting burned. 4. Don’t let children enter the kitchen easily. 5. Remove dangerous goods that may cause burns or take protective measures. Electrical appliances such as thermoses and irons should be placed out of children's reach. Do not put tablecloth on the table to avoid burns caused by knocking over bowls or thermoses on the table. 3. Precautions after burns When scalded by high-temperature liquid (hot soup, hot oil, boiling water, etc.), you should immediately take off the clothes soaked in the hot liquid to prevent the heat from continuing to act on the skin. "Cold therapy" for half an hour, that is, showering or soaking with tap water, is suitable for small area burns on the head, face, and limbs. After a burn, there will be obvious symptoms of thirst, and you can take some salt-containing beverages orally, such as sugar and salt water. Avoid drinking large amounts of plain water to avoid increasing thirst and causing complications such as water intoxication. In the early stages of burns, do not apply any medication (especially colored medication) or thick layers of oil on the injured surface, as this will affect the doctor's determination of the burn area and depth, and increase the difficulty of further treatment and medication. For blistered wounds, do not peel off the blister skin at will. Large blisters can be disinfected and the blister fluid can be extracted. The blister skin can protect the wound and prevent contamination. The healed skin is thin and tender, so it should be washed gently with warm water frequently to avoid friction and scratching. When the pain and itching are unbearable, you can gently pat the area. Especially at night, you can wear gloves or fix your hands to prevent scratching the new skin. If the wound breaks or becomes infected, go to the hospital for treatment at any time. |
