Internal hemorrhoids are a type of hemorrhoids located above the anal dentate line. The causes of internal hemorrhoids are mainly related to factors such as poor diet. The symptoms of internal hemorrhoids are relatively obvious, and the characteristic is painless blood in the stool. If not treated in time, internal hemorrhoids may prolapse in the later stages. 1. Location of onset It often occurs above the anal dentate line, and the lithotomy is located at 3, 7, and 11 o'clock. 2. Blood in the stool The main symptoms are bleeding during bowel movements or prolapse of hemorrhoids. 3. Stage symptoms In the early stage (working period), hemorrhoids are small, soft, bright red or purple in color, and do not fall out of the anus during bowel movements. Bleeding during or after defecation, in the form of drops or spurts, the blood is bright red, not mixed with feces, and occurs intermittently. In the middle stage (stage II), the hemorrhoids are larger and more bulging. They may protrude from the anus during bowel movements and retract on their own after bowel movements. Bleeding after defecation is less than in the early stage. In the later stage (stage III), hemorrhoids are larger, harder, and slightly grayish white in surface. They may protrude out of the anus during defecation, or even when walking, coughing, sneezing or standing. They cannot be retracted on their own and must be pushed back by hand, or by lying flat or applying hot compress. There will be little or no bleeding in the stool. 4. Anal manifestation Generally there is no pain, but in the middle and late stages there may be swelling and itching in the anus. If hemorrhoids prolapse and become incarcerated, it can cause swelling, pain, erosion, necrosis, and even suppuration, and secondary anal fistula. 5. Constipation Generally there are no systemic symptoms. In the later stages, some patients may develop symptoms such as anemia, difficulty in defecation, and difficulty in emptying urine. 6. Complications Bleeding: There are two reasons for bleeding after internal hemorrhoid surgery: early and late. The former is caused by the knot being loose and slipping; the latter occurs about 7 to 10 days after the operation due to infection at the ligation site. Due to the action of the anal sphincter, most of the blood flows back into the intestinal cavity instead of flowing out of the anus, so the phenomenon of red dyeing the dressing cannot be found clinically. |
