Nowadays, tumors have become a disease that troubles countless people, and the harm they bring to people is also very great. Many tumor patients do not even have the possibility of being cured. There are many types of tumors, and different tumors require different treatments. For example, sarcoma and lipoma are two completely different tumors, and the symptoms they exhibit are different. So, what are the differences between sarcoma and lipoma? 1. The difference between lipoma and liposarcoma 1. Lipoma Lipoma is a benign tumor formed by the proliferation of mature adipose tissue. It is more common in adults aged 40 to 50. The tumor is soft, round or lobed, located subcutaneously and can be moved. The tumors vary in size. Small ones are as big as dates and can only be felt by hand. Large ones may protrude from the skin, but the surface skin remains normal. The tumor may be single or multiple and may occur anywhere on the body surface, most commonly on the shoulders, back, and abdomen. Most of them have no subjective symptoms. Angiolipoma is a special type of lipoma, which is more common in young people. It often occurs in the lower limbs and can cause conscious pain and tenderness when touched. 2. Liposarcoma Liposarcoma is a malignant tumor originating from primitive mesenchymal tissue. It often occurs in the thigh and retroperitoneum. It can also be seen in the soft tissues of other parts of the buttocks, and occasionally and rarely originates in the liver. The clinical manifestations are non-characteristic, mostly pain in the liver area, fever, loss of appetite, weight loss, and palpable masses in the upper abdomen. Jaundice and ascites rarely occur. Liposarcoma is the second most common soft tissue sarcoma. It affects men slightly more than women and can occur at any age, but most cases occur over 40 years old. This disease rarely occurs elsewhere except in the abdominal cavity and thigh soft tissues, but there are also reports of it occurring in the trunk and limbs. In very rare cases, it occurs on the basis of existing lipoma. 2. Symptoms of lipoma Lipoma is a benign tumor formed by the proliferation of mature adipose tissue. It is more common in adults aged 40 to 50. The tumor is soft, round or lobed, located under the skin and can be pushed; the tumors vary in size, some are as small as a date and can only be felt by hand, while the larger ones may bulge out from the skin surface, but the surface skin remains normal. |
