What herbal medicine is good for urticaria

Urticaria is quite common in our daily life. It is a skin disease. There are many causes of urticaria. Generally, urticaria will subside quickly after the onset, but for patients with chronic urticaria, the impact is often more serious. For such patients, some Chinese herbal medicines can be used for treatment. The effect is also good, and the side effects are relatively low. It is not as easy to cause adverse effects on health as Western medicine.

What herbal medicine is good for urticaria

(1) Wind-heat long-term retention type:

Because the external wind-heat evil has not been dissipated, it has led to continuous attacks of wind phlegm. Symptoms include rash with red patches on the lower part, red tongue with yellow coating, and treatment is mainly to expel wind and clear heat. The commonly used self-made Black Snake Wind-Repelling Decoction: black snake, cicada shell, schizonepeta, angelica dahurica, notopterygium, coptis chinensis, scutellaria baicalensis, honeysuckle, forsythia, licorice, and rhubarb. (2) Blood heat and wind excess type:

It belongs to the category of "wind-knot rash" in traditional Chinese medicine, which is similar to today's artificial urticaria, also known as scratch disease. It often causes itching of the skin first, and then streaks immediately after scratching. This is the so-called external wind causing internal wind. Because there is fire in the heart meridian, blood is hot inside, and severe heat generates wind, the treatment focuses on cooling blood, clearing heat and eliminating wind, and slightly using blood-activating herbs to treat blood stasis. Medicinal uses: raw rehmannia, angelica, red peony root, lithospermum officinale, Yuanshen, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, raw gypsum, raw licorice, etc.

(3) Wei Qi is not solid:

It is another type of wind-cold, equivalent to cold urticaria. Because the Wei Wai is not strong enough, wind and cold can easily invade. The rash is prone to occur on exposed parts. The color is light red or pale. It can also occur if you are exposed to cold wind or wash your hands with cold water. The treatment should be to strengthen the Wei Wai and resist the wind. Medicinal uses: roasted huangmao, fangfeng, fried atractylodes, cinnamon twig, fried red peony root, ginger, jujube, schizonepeta, poria, etc. (4) Spleen dysfunction type:

Due to spleen deficiency and dysfunction, the patient is affected by wind and the Qi mechanism is disrupted. Symptoms include wheals on the body, stomach pain and bloating, loose stools, and even nausea and vomiting. The treatment is to strengthen the spleen and replenish Qi, dispel wind and relieve cold. Medicinal uses: Atractylodes lancea, tangerine peel, Poria cocos, Poria cocos, Alisma orientalis, Notopterygium wilfordii, Saposhnikovia divaricata, stir-fried Atractylodes macrocephala, costus root, Linderae scutellariae, etc.

(5) Blood stasis and wind-generating type:

Due to blood stasis blocking the meridians, the Ying and Wei Qi cannot be circulated, and the external wind-cold or wind-heat attack causes wind buds. This disease can be commonly seen on waistbands or wristbands, and is prone to occur at pressure points. It is now called compression urticaria, and the tongue may appear purple or have bruises. The treatment is mainly based on promoting blood circulation and dispelling wind. Medicinal uses: Angelica root, red peony root, peach kernel, safflower, salvia miltiorrhiza, schizonepeta, cicada shell, licorice, etc. For wind-heat, add honeysuckle and forsythia suspensa; for wind-cold, add ephedra and cinnamon twig.
