Urticaria is a common skin infection in our lives, especially during the change of seasons, which is affected by the climate and is a high-incidence season for urticaria. Urticaria usually manifests as rashes, itching and other phenomena on the skin. Children's skin is more fragile than that of adults and they are more susceptible to skin diseases such as urticaria. There are different types of urticaria, so what is scratch urticaria? Babies with allergic constitutions are prone to a disease called scratch urticaria. Scratch urticaria is an allergic reaction in the blood vessels of the skin. When stimulated by allergens, mast cells around the blood vessels in the skin release a large amount of histamine, which causes the skin blood vessels to dilate and serum to seep out of the blood vessels, causing itching. At this point the skin scratch test is positive. Because of the itchiness, the baby will scratch hard, and red lines, halos and edema will gradually appear at the scratched areas. There will be clear linear raised wheals, which will expand and merge along the scratches, and finally form large wheals. Once you stop scratching or fall asleep, the wheals will quickly disappear, leaving no trace after disappearing. Prevention and Treatment: 1. Prevention is the most important thing. Find the cause of the allergy. If you find that you are allergic to a certain food or drug, you should stop using it immediately and try to avoid contact with suspected allergens. 2. Divert the baby's attention, cut his nails short, and do not use your hands or other things to irritate the skin, because the more you scratch, the more itchy it will become, and it may easily lead to local infection. 3. Keep the room clean and dry, reduce contact with pollen, and avoid activities under trees, in the grass, etc. 4. Avoid cold wind stimulation that causes cold urticaria; but don't cover yourself with heat or take a bath with too high a temperature, because heat stimulation will cause blood vessels to dilate, releasing more allergens and inducing recurring urticaria. 5. The baby's underwear and bedding should be exposed to the sun for disinfection. 6. Take oral antihistamines such as cetirizine or loratadine. If the symptoms are severe, you must see a doctor. Note: It is best not to simply take anti-allergic drugs (to treat urticaria) to treat skin scratches. You should gradually improve all aspects of the body and take some vitamins, calcium tablets, and drugs that help the stomach to slowly adjust your body. There is no need to choose expensive and strong drugs. It is best to choose drugs with small side effects. This kind of drug takes a long time to take effect, but taking it for a period of time can cure the disease. Also, avoid taking hormonal drugs, as this will have a counterproductive effect. When taking a bath, the water temperature should not be too hot, just warm enough not to feel cold. |
