Tetanus shots are necessary after a serious injury to a part of the body, but some patients may experience allergic symptoms. If you want to treat patients in time, the combination of Chinese and Western medicine has a good effect. You can try it!

1. Clinical manifestations:

1. The incubation period generally ranges from one day to several months, usually 1-2 weeks.

2. The typical symptoms of tetanus allergy are clenched jaws, rigidity and spasm of muscles all over the body and paroxysmal convulsions. In mild cases, the spasms are mild and the attacks are few in number, while in severe cases, the spasms are severe and the attacks are frequent.

(1) Oral treatment: clean the wound and disinfect, apply wet compress with 3% hydrogen peroxide or 1:4000 potassium permanganate solution.

(2) Antitoxin treatment: 10,000 to 100,000 units of antitoxin, given as a single intravenous drip; for infants, 1,500 to 10,000 units, given as a single intravenous drip; TIG: 3,000 units, given as an intramuscular injection at a time, divided into three equal portions and injected into three locations.

(3) Antibiotic treatment: Penicillin, erythromycin, and tetracycline can be used.

(4) Control of spasms: Diazepam: 2-8 mg/kg body weight for adults, intravenous drip in divided doses; 0.5 mg/kg body weight for children, intravenous drip in divided doses; other drugs such as phenobarbital sodium, chlorpromazine, and chloral hydrate can also be used. Those with inflammation should use hormones, and those with clenched jaws should prevent suffocation.
