How much maca powder should I take at one time?

The Chinese medicinal material Maca can be made into maca powder after some processes. In fact, this kind of powdered Chinese medicinal material is often seen in people's lives. This will make it easier to eat. However, there are still some methods that need to be paid attention to during the taking process. Most of them need to be taken according to a certain dosage of Chinese medicinal materials.

The method of taking Maca powder is as follows

1. Alkaloids

Maca contains a variety of bioactive alkaloids (nitrogen-containing organic compounds), including imidazolidine A and B.

2. Macamides and macaenes

Macaamide and macaene are two unique active substances unique to maca discovered by Chinese-American botanist Zheng BL. The main components are: n-benzylhexadecylamide, -benzyl-(92)octadeceneamide, n-benzyl-(92, 122)-dieneoctadeceneamide, -benzyl-(92, 122)-trieneoctadeceneamide, n-benzyloctadecaneamide, and 17 homologues such as n-benzyloctanamide, n-benzyl-16-hydroxy-9-oxidation-10E 12E 14E-octadeceneamide and n-benzyl-16hydroxy-9, 16-dioxy-10E 12E 14E-octadeceneamide. The content of macaamide and macaene in maca extract is 0.6%.

3. Glucosinolates

Mesonaline glycosides are unique biologically active ingredients in cruciferous plants, and the main active ingredients of maca are benzyl mesonaline glycosides and benzyl isothiocyanate. Fresh maca roots contain about 1% mesona glycosides, and the dry powder contains 0.10-0.15% benzyl isothiocyanate; in addition, maca also contains several indole mesona glycosides and fatty acid mesona glycosides.

4. Sterol

Maca is rich in sterols and their derivatives, mainly including β-sitosterol, campesterol, stigmasterol, ergosterol, ergodiol, brassicasterol, etc. The content in maca dry root extract can reach 0.03-0.04%.

5. Amino acids

Maca is rich in amino acids, including essential amino acids and branched-chain amino acids with important physiological activities.

6. Other active substances

Maca also contains valuable trace secondary metabolites and bioactive ingredients

(1) Taurine, approximately 0.077-0.08%;

(2) Contains trace amounts of plant polyphenols, including tea polyphenols and other plant phenolic substances

(3) It also contains active substances such as saponins, flavonoids, coumarins, aliphatic primary amines, and tertiary amines;

(4) Volatile oil components: A total of 53 volatile oil components were identified in the pentane extract of the aerial part distillate, of which methyl phenyl cyanide accounted for 85.9%, benzoic aldehyde accounted for 3.1%, and 3-methoxyphenyl-methyl phenyl cyanide accounted for 2.1%, which were the main components.
