What are the dangers of alcoholic liver disease? This is the result of alcoholic liver disease!

If alcoholic liver disease is not treated in time, the series of harms it brings will be very serious. It can induce renal failure, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, cause ascites, and if severe, can also lead to alcoholic hypoglycemia and hepatic encephalopathy.

1. Liver failure : Alcoholic liver disease may induce liver failure. After the onset of the disease, the condition deteriorates rapidly, with clinical manifestations similar to those of severe hepatitis. It is often complicated by hepatic coma, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, renal failure and secondary infection, leading to death.

2. Upper gastrointestinal bleeding: Portal hypertension caused by alcoholic liver disease often leads to upper gastrointestinal bleeding. If it is not treated promptly and effectively, shock and other life-threatening conditions may occur. The mortality rate of massive gastrointestinal bleeding caused by alcoholic liver disease is relatively high.

3. Ascites and infection : Alcoholic liver disease causes a large amount of ascites due to factors such as electrolytes, osmotic pressure, and nutrition, thus leading to a vicious cycle that easily leads to electrolyte imbalance and acid-base imbalance. At the same time, due to nutrition and various complications during the course of alcoholic liver disease, the body's immunity is low, which can easily cause infection, especially lung infection and bacterial spontaneous peritonitis. Therefore, alcoholic liver disease should be prevented and treated.

4. Alcoholic hypoglycemia: People who eat little before drinking may experience hypoglycemia after drinking a lot of alcohol, accompanied by palpitations, sweating, loss of consciousness and other neurological manifestations.

5. Hepatic encephalopathy: Patients with alcoholic liver disease often suffer from hepatic coma due to factors such as gastrointestinal bleeding, electrolyte and acid-base disorders, secondary infections and the disease's own mechanism. When hepatic coma occurs, timely treatment should be given, otherwise the mortality rate is extremely high.
