People who sleep in this position must have bad livers

One third of a person's life is spent sleeping. We have to sleep every day, at night and at noon, but have you ever paid attention to sleep problems? For example, grinding teeth while sleeping, snoring while sleeping, liking to sleep with something in arms, sleeping on your stomach, etc. These sleeping problems are actually closely related to health.

These sleep patterns suggest health status

1. Snoring while sleeping

When you hear the deafening snoring of the person next to you, do you have the urge to smother him or her with a pillow? The "nasal breathing will lead to snoring" mentioned in "Treatise on Febrile Diseases" is due to insufficient body fluids to nourish the nose and forehead (near the "tongue"), which is where the Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian runs, and it is a problem of "liver governing the tendons".

How to solve it

If there are problems with the liver and gallbladder meridians, you can persist in massaging Taichong and Yanglingquan.

2. Sleeping on your stomach or holding something

There are always many people who like to sleep on their stomachs, and some people like to sleep while holding toys like dolls. In fact, you don’t know that something is wrong with you. This reflects that your heart yang is weak. If it is serious, you may also experience chest tightness, palpitations, etc.

How to solve it

Usually, you should pay attention to restoring your heart qi. You can use moxibustion on the Neiguan acupoint, or use 10g of cinnamon twig and 10g of roasted licorice to make tea.

3Hands and feet curled up

Why are my hands and feet always cold? No matter how hard you try to keep warm, you still can’t get warm? Are you curled up in a ball on the bed? This phenomenon is common among women. The reason is that the spleen and kidney functions are weak, the heart qi is insufficient, and the body fluids cannot nourish the extremities.

How to solve it

You can drink ginger, jujube and brown sugar water every morning when you wake up to boost your yang energy.

4. Talking in sleep and grinding teeth

Talking in sleep and grinding teeth are caused by heat in the Heart Meridian. "The heart stores the spirit," and only when the heart is adequately nourished by body fluids can the spirit be well stored. Otherwise, false heat is generated, which will lead to a series of manifestations of poor storage of the spirit after sleep: talking in sleep, grinding teeth, and even worse, sleepwalking. These are all problems of the heart.

How to solve it

When there is heat in the heart meridian, it is usually because the heart has not been nourished by body fluids for a long time, resulting in false heat, which is usually accompanied by symptoms such as irritability and yellow urine. In clinical practice, we should match prescriptions with symptoms based on specific symptoms, and follow the principle of "observing the pulse and symptoms to understand what's wrong and treating it accordingly."

5. Easy to wake up and frequent urination at night

If you always wake up between 1 and 3 am, or get up to go to the bathroom, you should pay attention to your liver and gallbladder problems. If you always wake up between 3-5 o'clock or go to the bathroom, you should pay attention to lung problems.

Suitable sleeping positions for several common diseases

For people suffering from certain diseases, it is necessary to pay attention to their sleeping posture and not mechanically force themselves to sleep on the right side. Adopting some protective sleeping positions on your own can be helpful in preventing the occurrence of diseases or alleviating the symptoms of diseases. Here we will introduce several common diseases suitable sleeping positions:

Tuberculosis

For people with disease on both sides of the lungs, it is best to sleep on your back. If the left lung is diseased, it is better to sleep on the left side; if the right lung is diseased, it is better to sleep on the right side.

Myocarditis, asthma, heart failure

Adopting a half-lying, half-sitting sleeping position can improve blood circulation in the lungs, reduce lung congestion, increase oxygen intake, and help relieve symptoms and rest.

Otitis media

Generally, pus will fill the ear canal on the affected side. In order to ensure smooth drainage of the pus, you can lie on the affected side to promote the discharge of pus.

Gastric ulcer

Patients with gastric ulcer are advised to lie on the left side. If you lie on your right side, the amount of acidic fluid that flows back from the stomach into the esophagus will be much greater than normal and will continue to flow back, causing burning pain in the stomach.

heart disease

If the heart's compensatory function is still good, you can lie on your right side. If heart failure has occurred, you can adopt a semi-recumbent position to alleviate breathing difficulties. Avoid lying on your left side or prone.

hypertension

Patients with hypertension, especially the elderly, should sleep in a semi-recumbent or side-lying position and can use a 15 cm high pillow. A pillow that is too high or too low will cause discomfort.

Cholecystitis, cholelithiasis

It is advisable to lie on the right side, which is conducive to the excretion of bile, prevents stone impaction and obstruction, and thus relieves pain.

Low back pain

It is suitable to sleep on your side, so that the muscles can relax completely, avoid muscle tension, stimulation or compression of nerves, and cause or aggravate low back pain.

Cervical Spondylosis

When sleeping, you should place a pillow under your neck, do not let your neck hang in the air, and do not turn over suddenly and violently. It would be better if you could use a cervical health pillow.
