Hypopituitarism

Hypopituitarism

The rapid development of urbanization has caught many people off guard, resulting in the emergence of many strange diseases. The symptoms of these diseases are difficult to detect, and the symptoms have a long dormant period and may manifest themselves in many ways. Therefore, we should always pay attention to our physical health to ensure that our bodies can function normally. In addition, doing more exercise and maintaining a healthy diet are also good ways to improve your physical fitness.

Taking care of your body does not just start when you are old, you should start taking care of it from every moment, because it is vital for everyone. Now there is a kind of hypopituitarism, also known as panpituitarism, which is a new problem facing mankind.

Panhypopituitarism may develop suddenly and dramatically, but more often it develops gradually and may remain unnoticed by the patient for long periods of time.

1. Single ACTH deficiency is rare, but it can lead to adrenal insufficiency, fatigue, hypotension, hypoglycemia and lack of tolerance to stress (such as major surgery, trauma, infection, etc.).

2. Deficiency of one, several or all anterior pituitary hormones may occur. Premenopausal women who lack gonadotropins (luteinizing hormone and follicle-stimulating hormone) may experience amenorrhea, infertility, vaginal dryness, and degeneration of certain female sexual characteristics.

3. Men will experience impotence, testicular atrophy, decreased sperm production, and then infertility and certain male sexual characteristics such as body growth and degeneration of facial beard. Gonadotropin deficiency is also seen in Kallmann syndrome; patients with this syndrome often have cleft lip or palate, color blindness, and loss of smell.

4. Growth hormone deficiency in adults often has few or no symptoms. But in children it can cause growth retardation or even dwarfism.

5. TSH deficiency causes hypothyroidism, low thyroid function, confusion, fear of cold, weight gain, constipation, and dry skin.

Knowing the symptoms of hypopituitarism actually has a great impact on physical health. Moreover, this type of disease not only occurs in the elderly or middle-aged people, but also occurs in children. This is very scary. Therefore, once there is an abnormality in the body, you must seek medical attention in time to prevent accidents.
