First, why do gums turn purple? Considering it is a manifestation of periodontitis, you should pay attention to it. If it is periodontitis, you should treat it early. It may also be due to bad habits such as biting pencils, and poor teeth cleaning, which causes inflammation of the gums and purple gums. You should be careful when brushing your teeth to see if the color of the gums can be restored after the inflammation subsides! In addition, long-term heavy smokers will also have pigment deposits caused by tobacco on the surface of the gums. Some drugs can also cause changes in the color of the oral mucosa and teeth. If this happens, it is best to go to the hospital to confirm whether it is heavy metal poisoning.
