Bone alkaline phosphatase

Bone alkaline phosphatase

Do you know about bone-derived alkaline phosphatase? It can reflect some functional conditions of our bone cells very well. Especially in recent years, it has been widely used in the diagnosis of rickets in children. It is also a good reference indicator. Is rickets in children already a common disease? We should take scientific prevention measures for this disease in time and do not miss the best time to treat this disease.

Bone-derived alkaline phosphatase can be used to diagnose some problems with our bones, especially for children with rickets. By testing bone-derived alkaline phosphatase, we can well diagnose the condition and adopt some treatment methods suitable for children based on the measured values.

Bone alkaline phosphatase (NBAP) is one of the phenotypic markers of osteoblasts. It can directly reflect the activity or functional status of osteoblasts. In recent years, it is a specific reference indicator mainly used for early diagnosis and subclinical identification of rickets in children. It is also the best indicator for evaluating human bone mineralization disorders.

Bone-derived alkaline phosphatase is secreted from the bone. When calcium salt precipitation in the bone is insufficient, the secretion of the enzyme increases. When calcium salt in the bone is sufficient, the secretion decreases. Therefore, it is used to help check whether there is insufficient calcium absorption.

Bone alkaline phosphatase reference value ≤ 200 units/L

The catalytic activity of bone-derived alkaline phosphatase in children's blood is detected to screen or assist in the diagnosis of bone calcification disorders caused by calcium malnutrition or metabolic bone diseases caused by other reasons.

The reference values of bone alkaline phosphatase are as follows:

Normal level ≤ 200u/L

Prevention level 250u/L

Medical level 300u/L

2. Detection significance

The onset of rickets is a chronic process with non-specific initial clinical manifestations. Treatment is not initiated until obvious bone changes occur. The best period for treatment will be missed, which will have an adverse effect on children's growth and development. Therefore, in clinical work, an indicator is needed to measure the treatment level. Prevent under- or overtreatment. Relying solely on symptoms and signs can easily lead to misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis. Previous tests of blood calcium, phosphorus, whole blood alkaline phosphatase and X-ray had low sensitivity and poor specificity. It should not be used for early diagnosis. 25(OH)D3 is an internationally recognized reliable indicator of the vitamin D nutritional status in the body. It can be used as an indicator for early diagnosis. The experimental steps are complicated. It is not suitable for implementation in primary healthcare institutions. The detection of bone-derived alkaline phosphatase in children has the advantages of being simple, rapid, specific and sensitive. The clinical application of this reagent provides a scientific diagnostic basis for the early detection of rickets and has great clinical significance in guiding clinical treatment.

I believe that today everyone should have a vague understanding of bone-derived alkaline phosphatase, and know that it can effectively detect the condition of our bones. Especially for the examination and treatment of rickets in children, it has been of great significance, and can also serve as a good guide for treatment.
