What causes cervical spondylosis?

With the development of science and technology and the emergence of computers, the incidence of cervical spondylosis is increasing, and it is affecting younger and younger people. Many students and office workers work in front of computers for a long time, and some are addicted to online games, so they are prone to cervical spondylosis. If cervical spondylosis is discovered and treated in time, it can still be self-treated. The early symptoms of cervical spondylosis include: neck and shoulder pain and numbness, dizziness, sometimes accompanied by headaches, and some patients may experience numbness of the upper limbs.

After suffering from cervical spondylosis, some people seek medical treatment and try many methods of treatment, some take medicine, some use acupuncture and physical therapy. In fact, drug treatment cannot fundamentally cure cervical spondylosis. Sometimes the condition cannot be cured but may even get worse. Some will develop a dependent mentality.

What exactly causes cervical spondylosis? Cervical spondylosis is one of the common and frequently occurring diseases among middle-aged and elderly people.

Chronic strain is the primary culprit. Long-term damage to local muscles, ligaments, and joint capsules can cause local bleeding and edema, and inflammatory changes. Inflammation and organization gradually appear at the site of the lesion, and bone hyperplasia forms, affecting local nerves and blood vessels.

Trauma is the direct cause of cervical spondylosis. Often, people already have varying degrees of lesions before trauma, which puts the cervical spine in a highly dangerous state, and the trauma directly induces the symptoms.

Poor posture is another major cause of cervical spine injuries. Working with the head down for a long time, watching TV or reading in bed, using high pillows, operating the computer for a long time, violently rotating the neck or head, sleeping in a moving car, these bad postures will put the neck muscles in a state of long-term fatigue and make them prone to injury.

Poor development or defects of the cervical vertebrae are also one of the causes of cervical spondylosis that cannot be ignored. Compared with Europeans and Americans, the spinal canal volume of Asians is smaller, making them more susceptible to spinal cord compression and symptoms.

In fact, cervical spondylosis is also a kind of bone disease. Bone disease requires more calcium supplementation and eating more calcium-containing foods. On the other hand, you should pay attention to keeping warm and not get cold. Wind-cold and dampness caused by cold are taboos for bone disease. After getting cold, it is easy for qi and blood to be blocked, and the injured cervical vertebra is prone to relapse of old diseases. The saying "If there is pain, there is blockage; if there is blockage, there is no pain" is exactly this principle.
