Fracture is a common orthopedic disease. Friends who have suffered fractures know how painful it is and that it takes a lot of time to recover. For friends who have not suffered fractures, spraining their ankle while wearing high heels can be considered a minor fracture. Therefore, fractures are more painful and inconvenient to move. Minor fractures can be solved through conservative treatment. Patellar fracture is a common injury, with local swelling and pain of the patella, inability to straighten the knee joint independently, often with subcutaneous bruises and knee skin abrasions as the main manifestations. The age of patellar fracture is generally between 20 and 50 years old, with more males than females, about 2:1. The treatment of patellar fracture should restore the smoothness of the articular surface to the greatest extent possible, provide firmer internal fixation, mobilize the knee joint early, and prevent the occurrence of traumatic arthritis. 1. Non-surgical treatment Plaster splint or tube fixation is suitable for non-displaced patellar fractures. No manual reduction is required. The blood in the joint is drained and bandaged. The affected limb is fixed in an extended position for 3 to 4 weeks with a long-leg plaster splint or tube. Practice quadriceps contraction during the cast period, and practice knee flexion and extension after the cast is removed. 2. Surgery Patellar fractures with more than 2 to 3 mm displacement, articular surface unevenness of more than 2 mm, and combined extensor retinaculum tear fractures are best treated with surgery. Avoid eating too much meat and bones. Some people believe that eating more meat and bones after a fracture can help the fracture heal earlier. In fact, this is not the case. Modern medicine has proved through many practices that if patients with fractures eat more meat and bones, it will not only fail to heal early, but will delay the healing time of the fracture. The reason is that the regeneration of bones after injury mainly depends on the function of periosteum and bone marrow, and periosteum and bone marrow can play a better role only under the condition of increasing collagen, and the main components of meat bones are phosphorus and calcium. If consumed in large quantities after a fracture, it will increase the inorganic content in the bone, leading to an imbalance in the proportion of organic matter in the bone, thus hindering the early healing of the fracture. But fresh meat and bone soup is delicious and can stimulate appetite, so it is okay to eat less. From the above information, it can be seen that patellar fractures can be treated conservatively and surgically. It is recommended to undergo surgical treatment, which will allow for faster recovery and authoritative guidance. Friends who do not understand orthopedics and still want conservative treatment may not be able to find the right medicine and will need a long time to recover. |
